Avatar f tn I'd try to do some shakes. Get a protein shake like Vega and blend in fruit and vegetables. At least you can try to drink it down quickly. I understand where you're coming from! Protein is really important so be sure to add the powder and vary your fruit.
Avatar f tn You can also try turning your veggies into a smoothie in the morning or afternoon add some fruit, hemp seed protein, avocado and coconut oil and blend with coconut water or coconut milk or pineapple juice.
Avatar f tn Why not try a protein shake, rather than a milkshake? Try a scoop of vanilla protein powder with 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup water, 1 cup frozen fruit chunks... blend and enjoy. Protein will keep you feeling fuller longer and it won't spike your blood sugar like a regular milkshake will do. "I eat protein in the morning and unfortunately sugar in the afternoon and usually veggies at night." Are you eating lunch? If not, you're letting yourself get too hungry.
Avatar f tn You can get a 2lb can of Whey Protein powder at Walmart for 15$ that has all the amino acids you need. Blend 2 scoops with a banana, milk (I use almond) and some frozen berries. Drink twice a day. This is yummy, gives you the aminos, and NO PILLS! Feel better...You are doing this!
Avatar m tn His weight below the 5th percentile for his age. Are you giving him nutrient dense drinks? For underweight children, they should consume daily all the nutrients with protein foods for all meals and snacks. Suggest giving him Pediasure in place of milk or make your own milkshakes from milk or yogurt (milk, ice cream, & fruit blended; or yogurt, ice cream, & fruit blended).
Avatar f tn A 16-oz serving of low-fat (2%) chocolate milk has 64 g carbs, 16 g protein and 360 calories. If you’re a vegan, flavored pea protein, brown rice protein, or soy protein can be a substitution for chocolate milk. I don't recommend soy. But Paxiled will say don't listen to me about soy! LOL. Link for the chocolate milk: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23075563 Smoothies are great, they have everything you need, fluids, protein and carbohydrates.
Avatar f tn For extra protein u can add a spoonful of natural peanut butter or almond butter into ur smoothie wen u blend it. Also before you rise out of bed try to eat a few saltine crackers. Avatar f tn I personally use a millet and rice flake cereal, add some oat bran and sprouted grain and bean granola-like cereal with soy milk, but you can use almond milk if you like, a piece of fruit and some nuts to balance out the protein when I choose to eat cereal.
Avatar n tn You appear to be intolerant to milk protein, based on that test. Many sensitive people can handle milk protein if they take a protease enzyme supplement just prior to consumption. I would not recommend you continue to consume dairy products without this enzyme supplement, as you can make the problem worse, over time. Better yet, you can take an enzyme blend that includes lactase and protease both.
470630 tn?1235660541 Have you tried home-made milkshakes for extra calories and protein? They are very easy to make. Just blend, in a blender, milk with ice cream or make a yogurt smoothie which is yogurt, milk and frozen fruit (ex: frozen strawberries). You can add fresh fruit (ex: bananas) to both of them which adds favor, vitamins, and minerals. Children tend to accept these a lot better than canned nutrient drinks. Thank you for your question.

392430 tn?1382904781 ^_^ So when I make smoothies I start with about a cup or so of whole milk yogurt (Stonyfield Organic Cream Top is SO good), I add veggies, fruit, some whole milk to thin it out and then blend away until smooth. I have a stick blender and I just blend it right in the quart size yogurt container and store in the fridge. For veggies I use frozen squash, peas, carrots, spinach, baked sweet potato. For fruit I have a frozen mix from Costco that has peaches, strawberry, honeydew melon and pineapple.

I found those bottles of 5 hour power was really helpful. After tx I was still exhausted and I asked my PC doctor," isn't there something that could help me?
Avatar f tn s one small portioned container of cherry yogurt, some frozen blueberries mixed with coconut milk ! it tastes delicious . Also I like to blend some pineapple, banana, ice and coconut milk together .. try adding some pineapple juice or some other fruit juice .
Avatar m tn As Ive started thinking more and more, when I was working out I remember I couldnt find a protein powder that sat well with me. I kept switching. Milk, and dairy of such doesnt give me diarrhea or pain, like common lactose tolerance symptoms. Milk just alters my stools, turning them light colored after a few days of drinking it. So does sour cream and ice cream. I dont have this problem with cheese, and the lactose tolerance pills did not make a difference in this, because I tried them.
Avatar n tn Suggest giving him either Pediasure or milkshakes (milk and ice cream blended) in place of milk at all meals and snacks for additional calories and protein to help him gain weight.
