A friend of mine has PA and has been taking Enbrel for years and she is in great health now. I started taking it 14 weeks ago after being so miserable for 4 years. I feel the best I have since getting sick 4 years ago. I urge you to speak to your Dr. about it. Take care.

Yup, I definitely know about Enbrel. I was on in for over three year and wish that I were still on it. As a matter of fact, I probably will go back on it when I see my doctor in a couple of weeks. I am presently on methotrexate which is doing absolutely nothing for me. Granted, we have different types of arthritis, mine being psoriatic arthritis, but I can tell you that I was on Enbrel alone for atleast three years and I had great results with no side effects. For me it was a wonder drug.

I was an avid weight-lifter and athlete in judo,but my passion was bodtbuilding,my occomplishments included a 3rd place finish in the junior Mr. Canada championships in 1978,i also was active in the adult amateur b.b. championships.So as i loved to work-out,i rushed to get back in shape.Resulting in a 2nd back surgery in 1993,this time i wasent so lucky. I after the operation my problem was a r-leg (Drop FOOT) and a muscle wasting atropy making the calf muscles shrink away to nothing.

I'm in the same vote. On enbrel and have developed hpv. Very tiny bumps if even noticeable at all, but its been spreading. Aldara only made my psoriasis and psa flare up. I guess the next thing is to stop enbrel till my hpv clears up? I am 29, male, non smoker. Enbrel is the only med I take.

Doctor, I would like information related to Enbrel and MS. I used Enbrel for less than one year. I now have demylination of the cervical spinal cord, both optic nerves, plaques in my brain, numbness in leg and balance problems. I am now fifty eight. Symtoms started at age fifty six with numbness in leg and balance problems. I have been told it looks "MSish." Questions: now that the new symptom of, the optic nerves being demlinated, is it MS?

My problem is that when I get off Enbrel, every joint in my body swells, turns red, hurts unbearably and locks up. I become completely bedridden and cannot get dressed or go to the bathroom without help. My blood tests show that, even with the Enbrel, my c reactives and other immune response numbers are very high. They tell me that they will give me prednisone to help with the reaction.

I've never injected Enbrel in my stomach! I always do it in my thigh or butt... I did this Enbrel Pregnancy research when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I have had RA since I was 15 and I have 2 children (pregnant with my 3rd). I used Enbrel during my pregnancies, just less often. I take a 25mg shot every other week or every 3rd... Everything is fine with my two children...I wish there was more research on it...

I was only 42 at the time and the thought of that was mindboggleing! Enbrel was introduced in 1998 and by the time my insurance agreed to pay for it it was Spring 1999 when I took my first injection. Hi there, yesterday I felt horrible and today when I got home from work I took the pup down to the beach and we walked fast for an hour. I have had a sore throat the last two mornings that comes and goes. I have a 5:30 appt Friday with the rheumy. I also need to touch base with the neuro to find out is take on all of this. Right now I feel the most "normal" I have felt in 4 years so maybe the Enbrel is kicking in.

one year of Enbrel injections. Although the Enbrel may have lessened the pain and progression. other side effects and basically an unwell feeling. dizziness. sinusitis. Pain in eyes. If this is as good as it gets. there must be something better. anyone else been here and found something better?

I was diagnosed with Severe RA in 1999 and was prescribed Enbrel. I've been on it 2 times a week since then and have very good luck with it. No side effects and have to take no other medications with it, besides Vicodin when I have a flare up or severe pain. My doctor wants to put me on Enbrel but i am nervious about it. All the reading i do about it suggests that the cure is worse then the disease and it seems that the risk of getting cancer, lupus or the like is extreamly high (higher then the other injectables). I am no stranger to biologics, my doctor had me on Raptiva (before they pulled it) and i loved it. I have been on Enbrel in the past for at least 3 years until my arthritis progressed. I have never had any of the symptoms that you have described. I have had the darkened areas along the injection areas. I would check with the doctor regarding this.

I have had leg weakness so bad that my legs have felt as if they would buckle under me. In addition to these symptoms, I have had profuse itching to my extremities that is not relieved with hydrocortisone cream or benadryl. I am an RN and have really studied these symptoms, and I feel as if there is something else besides RA lurking around. Im wondering if these symptoms are indicative or RA or if the symptoms suggest a neurological problem?

Last week..one morning after waking, I went to the bathroom and noticed lots of blood in the toilet bowl...coming from the rectal area. It was pretty shocking since there seemed to be alot. It was bright red so I know its from the lower tract. The next BM, the same and then it cleared up with not a trace of blood and has been fine since. Since it bothered me so much, I decided to go to the ER. I had a COLONOSCOPY back in OCTOBER 2008. No polyps just inflammation found.
