However, it would be helpful to know the numerical results, i.e. the ELISA ratios of your tests; and the exact test done each time, i.e. HerpeSelect ELISA? HerpeSelect immunoblot? Trinity Biotech's Captia test? (If your provider uses a national lab, it might help: Quest Lab routinely uses HerpeSelect ELISA and Labcorp uses Captia.)

After about a week on them I developed a yeast infection and white tongue. I retested at 7 weeks ELISA HIV 1/2 ab test. It was negative. Sore throat continues but its off and and and ear pain. Retested one more time at 9.5 weeks with rapid oraquick HIV 1/2 ab finger prick test. Again negative. I still have throat issues now I have fatigue, earpain on and off. So I went again at 11 weeks with rapid test and negative. Can I trust my results?
I am due a test next week which I have been putting off due to worry. I had test a 7 weeks (ELISA) which was neg. about a month ago i had a tear in my vagina and it was painful, i also had itchy rash around in my inner thighs and buttocks area which use to come and go duing my periods. when i visited my gyno he wanted me to do HSV 1&2 elisa igm and igg test. the igm test was positive for 2.14, igg was negative. my doctor didnt say i have herpes , he said i had a viral infection and priscribed acylovir.

You also could request repeat testing by the HerpeSelect ELISA test, which give the numerical value I described above; or you could have another test with the BiokitUSA test (I don't know if it's marketed in Canada, e.g. as BiokitCanana?), which is a pretty good tie-breaker. But why mess around with the less certain tests? See above about Western blot testing.

There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
