My partner is pregnant and recently had a HIV Test. The test was 3.5 weeks ago, we still don't have the results.
Can anyone please tell the normal turnaround time?
Does the turnaround time increase when it is positive due to confirmatory tests etc.?

Nervous as hell & guilt like you wouldn't believe for not testing myself earlier.
I know that this may not be very scientific but the condom was intact after intercourse. Subsequently I have had three tests done one PCR test 72 hrs after the event a ELISA test after 3 months and another ELISA after 8 months all were negative. But I guess due to my missgivings about the event I have lingering doubts about my HIV status. Further some sites and webpages on the internet speak about delayed serocoversion even as late as 12 months (specifically the HIV testing page on wikipedia).
Now come on. You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
Did a stomach ultrasound - normal, HIV (Elisa hiv 1 and 2) - negative, Elisa HBsAg - Negative, Elisa Anti-HCV - Negative, Widal/SAT -Negative, and a blood culture report which also turned out to be negative.
But this is where it got worse....I 'heard' that some medications can interfere with Elisa HIV/HCV and other tests. And I took one tablet in the morning (perhaps 3-4 hours or more) before the Tests. Can this interfere with the results?
