But how do i know if its a 3rd generation test bcz i didnt ask the hospital. All they said its ELISA test which took a day .
1)'Fourth generation ELISA for HIV1/2' is a HIV DUO TEST (Antibody and Antigen Sandwich Test) .It actually looks for the P24 (protein) Antigen and Antibodies simultaneously.
2) P24 Antigen is almost always present in the body after acquiring the virus till the 4th week after infection and then it disappears .
3)Once the P24 antigen disappears,antibodies starts to show up.
1 year later april 2013 due to due ocd i made hsv 1 and hsv 2 tests elisa but not herpeselect ( i left usa and herpeselect not here) came back neg 2 . ( refrence value 11 pos . I dont know exactly what is this test more than it is elisa and they claim it is type specific . No symptoms ever but cant stop thinking about the first herpeselect elisa 1.7 and can the immunoblot one week later and this test be false negatives ?
but i am still worried , cause i donot think japan got herpeselect which produced by usa,maybe they use something else to do the test and misses. and also i read that a small proportion of folks donot prodcued detectable antibodys even after one year , and i am afraid i was one of them.
so how can i get peace of mind. since i live in japan, i have no access to WB.

The problem is i left usa and herpeselect is not available here. I made two elisa igg tests one year later and both came back negative but they have different ref range other than herpeselect
One says result 18.5 neg ref 30 pos
And the other result 2 neg ref11 pos
U know nothing about these tests . They claim they are herpes 2 specific.
You didn't have a risk so it would be a false positive, unless you did have a risk that you didn't happen to mention.
Therefore, when i went back to USA i took a HIV DNA test by the PCR and an ELISA test after 33 days the test was done by Labcorp. The result came back NEGATIVE.

My Questions.
1.
There are two home tests available now in the USA. The home access test (blood test) and the oraquick test (saliva test). Is one more reliable than the other for early testing? A few things I am considering here are: 1) I believe Dr. Hook said that blood tests tend to detect positive results slightly earlier than saliva tests and 2) the home access test is a 2nd generation assay whereas oraquick is a 3rd generation assay.

And u konw, the tree clinics the i choosed are the best ones, the bionanlyst said to me they used Elisa of ultimate generation and imported from USA, although im a chinese guy, i prefer the products of USA. I think the venezuela bionanlyst is too conservative! I have been searching a lot of informations about the windows period in the website. In CHINA, the CDC says 3 months, in EU, like French, UK and Spain, they say 6-8weeks because they used the fourth generation.
Hi,i am from taiwan. I got HIV tested yesterday after 6 weeks(ELISA). But the nurser who draw my blood told me that the window period is 3 months. I am confused because and i told her in USA, who got hiv actually will be tested after 6 week, then she say"USA IS USA , T IS T", So?

2) Why this ACON test kit showed me a very very faint line.
3) Do u have any info regardin this ACON test kit are they approved by FDA etc.
m scared that in saudi they used new generation elisa or not(i didnt aske them)please comment me your thought in about elisa test in saudi. Is it same elisa method uses in all around the world ? can i reliable in my previous test or i should go for another test after complate 6 months. And why that doc said me come after 6 months ? And also i saw in google some web says takes 6 months to detectable why they said that what is reason ?
