respected members, do i need further testing after 31 days negative elisa test ? my risk was unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex with a csw. but i detected one week later a small ulcer 3mm below on line going down from the urinal hole neither paining nor even bleeding.am not sure whether it was there at the time of my encounter.i have great regards for both of you and your opinion thereon.please answer this and i promise this would be my last post.thanx in anticipation.

I was calm with these results but yesterday I noticed an ulcer on my penis (on prepuce). I went to the urologist and he examined me and told me that the ulcer didn't look like chancre or syphilis but in order to discard he asked me to test for VRDL.
can i rely on 38 days negative elisa 1/2 after an instance of receiving oral unprotected from a csw while i was having a little ulcer on my penis? is four days short of 6 weeks going to make some difference?can i move on my life now ?
Hi. So I got another ulcer on my foreskin and I decided to get myself tested for HSV. I got a HSV1/2 type-specific IgG testing by ELISA. I got <2 RU/mL for both HSV1 and HSV2.
Reference: <16: negative, unlikely infected with HSV 1 or 2
16-=22: positive, likely infected with HSV 1 or 2, recommend for clinical examination and review
My last genital sexual exposure was in early April, so it's basically 5 months. Is that long enough for this IgG test to be conclusive?
All i can say is i wish you well, if its after 3months then put your feet up-relax and never do it again, abstinance is the best defense, ive had 3 elisa one pcr and next week i go for another elisa (week 6) i have all the symptoms of sero illness and am as scared to death.I feel ive just screwed up a very bright future that i had.

- in the periods time, initial itching in the genital area, then becoming reddish, then forming an ulcer kind of sore, then burning sensation and pain while urinating. But I dint test for HSV I as I didn't notice any fever blisters in my face or any other parts (or I might have missed to notice). Now only I wanted to test for HSV I also (as I thought of giving pleasure to my partner atleast orally. He is not infected with any STD) .
Then had loose stools for a week from 16th.I took 4th gen elisa test on 18th day it came negative value 0.002 cut of 0.2. Next i did endoscopy doctor observer as gerd with sore throat and mild mouth ulcer with one crank uncer till date. I had protected viginal sex With two condom.on 17 march i took chemiluminescence test it took only 2 hours to get the result it came 0.13. Cut of is 1.i
dont know How reliable is this test with tis i took hsbag and vdrl it came non reactive.
A week after the the last encounter with CSW (30 October 2014), i got tested with ELISA and Rapid test, and the result is negative. My HIV counselor is telling me to get test again in the next 6 months.
So, my questions are:
1. How big is my risk for getting infected with HIV ?
2. Do i need to wait 6 month to get HIV Test? because it's too long and every single day i can't focus to my work because of this.
3. Do we have a case that hiv infected through the ulcer?
hence after 41 day of sex i m hiv negative and after 48 day and 55 day of sex the women tested negative in elisa. but since last five days i feel low grade intermittent low grade fever up to 1-2 hour sore throat and swell lymph node motile under chin and now mouth ulcer. but i m familir to mouth ulcer. no excessive night sweat.
I am seeing the DR on Monday should I ask for a PCR test to balance off the ELISA just in cass, or test for CD4 count just to rule out non cad B HIV Virus. If I have HIV will taking Haart calm the symptoms of Guttate Psoriasis and PSA or will my Immune system be so overworked that I will arthritic complications for life.
Your blisters do sound typical for herpes, unfortunately. The ELISA test, the IgG type specific test that is normally used for screening, misses at least one out of 10 cases of HSV 1. You could do one of two things:
1) wait until you get your next blister, no matter how small, and ask for a PCR swab to be done of it immediately or
2) get a herpes western blot antibody test.
