Given transmission rate data and probability, I do not see how our current viral status is probable. Take into account 4+ years of unprotected sex while trying to have a family. s not, because it is now known that the Lyme bacteria can and do *suppress* your immune system, and your immune system activity against a Lyme infection is exactly what the W.blot/ELISA tests look for. The test result of the W.blot/ELISA tests can then wrongly say that you have no antibodies against Lyme, and therefore do not have Lyme, when actually it may be that the Lyme bacteria are just not being located and reported on the test results.

So please tell me how conclusive is the PCR-test after 16 days. Do you think I really have to do the repeat test in 6 weeks or can I let go after I hopfeully get my negative results this week?

1) Would like to ask that the 27 minutes stated there means the whole procedure will take around 27 minutes including process of preparation of blood samples and reagents into assay or just the time for assay to run exclude the preparation steps? According to my studies, ELISA required at least 3 to 4 hours of preparation which made me suspect the reliability of the test/ performance of lab assistants.
2) Does anyone has knowledge and experience on the sensitivity or accuracy of this test ?
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.

hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
35% of those with the less than 3.5 range are actually positive. I myself have had an HSV-1 and HSV-2 ELISA test come back and I have had a low range HSV-2 as well (1.72), and I'm still waiting for results to confirm if I actually have it or not.
False positives usually happen due to "cross-reaction" in the HSV ELISA tests, because these methods confuse the HSV-1 virus as the HSV-2 virus if the HSV-1 is present, and it can spit back false positive results on your HSV-2 test.
