The euroimmun hsv elisa scale is different to the herpes select. It uses a range of 0.00-22.00Ru/ml. I read somewhere on this forum that grace said it was an inaccurate test?? Is this true???
I ask because I did an hsv2 igg and got 1.1
then I went to another lab using the euroimmun hsv2 elisa igg and I got 2.66 Ru/ml which uses the 0.00-22.00Ru/ml scale.
also i made another elisa test 1 year later which came back negative but they use another scale 11 eu/ml for postives instead .9 .9 to1.1 and >1,1 . (just one brief 4 min vaginal sexual with condom with asymptomatic girl i dont know her serostatus ) . i didnt show any symptoms . i just wanted to be definite in everything to get ur right advice.
The first lab again was an IFA test, and just the HSV1 was positive. HSV was negative. On the second lab it was an ELISA test (the test sensitivity says 99% for HSV1 and 92% for HSV2) and it was negative on both. Although compared to the last month ELISA test, the values for HSV1 were a little bit higher this time (5.6 vs. 4.4 of a lower than 9 scale for negative).
I called both labs and told them the contradictory results. On the lab with positive results they retook the test.
I recently received my positive test result from a IgG ELISA test for HSV-1. The value provided on the report is 43.90 !! Everything I read indicates that 4 or 5 is a high reading, with maybe 7-8 range being outliers. The test report indicates the well known range of 1.2 or so being positive etc. so it is not some sort of new expanded scale scoring.
) Her doctor could not explain the value scale of a western blot result and inferred it was the same for the IgG test. I’ve been unable to find out how to interpret the results for a WB and thought to ask if you could help. Also - is there a linear correlation between the two tests? Did her antibody titer spike 7x in a week? Does this indicate a particularly infectious phase?
Moving forward, we plan to continue to use condoms for protection.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
I tested IgG but the limits of the test is not like other tests on the forum
HSV2 IgG Ab 13.0 RU/mL negative = 22
that mean i am negative but the other tests on the forum have a limit of 0.9 not that numbers....
is that mean i am Negative or should i test in another lab ???
and work in lap said me thit is elisa method . and take another test after 6 months result test after 2 days in hospital ?// can elisa method take result in 30 min only ????
3. any diffrent about first elisa gen and third gen?? the same window piriod after 6 months?
4. can antibdies late in 12 months ??
5. can all elisa test to detect hiv1 and hiv2 and all group or strains in hiv1
