So I had the ELISA test done several times all with negative results about 6 months ago. I also had a western blot test from Imugen which only showed a positive band for 41 which is very common.
I just need some kind of conformation that I defiantly have lyme. I just ordered an Igenex kit. Which test should I have done? My Doc doesn't think I have any co-infections and recommended the western blot again if I do any. Is this the best one?
First, I lost 8 pounds from July 24 (yearly physical) and August 15 (first ELISA test). Other symptoms include mild head ache for most of those days, white coated tongue - somtimes stinging and with bad taste, prickly/slightly itchy skin at times, what i call hot flashes, neuropathy symptoms - a good amount of burning and slight pain in feet and hands.

Focus Diagnostics, and the result was not positive

I believe the test used is call HSV-2 Antibody IgG Elisa Euroimmun test, my result is 43.5 RU/ml which is a positive according to the index.
I want to know what are the chances of a false positive for this index? And what are the chances that the index will be lowered to a point that it will become a negative?

Group P infections may not be efficiently detected by current HIV screening tests due to the absence of group P-specific reagents for antibody detection. Thus, group P infections may have been missed because of our strategy of evaluating only HIV-seropositive specimens.

Do you think I need to worry about whatever type or group of hiv when I was tested negative two times with elisa assay for antibodies (no pcr test)? Are these tests enough sensitive and true? I see now I didn't mention in my first post that I was tested only with tests for antibodies.

i did HAV HBV HEV HCV test at 7 weeks and it came out negative
i did HIV test at 9 weeks (Elisa) and i did another test yesterday 12 weeks (Elisa) (85 days) it also came out negative.
i did syphilis test too at 85 days also negative
here are my questions for STDs.
1 -i'm soo worried that i might have catched genital herpes and maybe i'm asymptotic right now, is it possible after months or years i might start to have herpes symptoms?

I tested at 16 weeks and 1 day from my last possible unprotected sexual encounter. The test was, Focus - Herpeselect Type Specific 1/2 IGG ELISA issued at Quest Diagnostics. My test came back negative. I have not had an outbreak or rash. Please let me know your thoughts on this being conclusive or not? Or should I order a Western Blot?
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.

hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
