Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test reading

elisa-test

Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
287371 tn?1204860972 Since when are YOU responsible of reading your Duo or ELISA test results? Your not, that is why they have lab techs and doctors. That something that you don't have to worry about.
Avatar n tn i live in the us and had an elisa antibody test at 7 weeks 9 weeks and 13 weeks which all tested negative. i still get leary on the whole 6 month test. is the elisa here accurate This discussion is related to A different question.
Avatar m tn And the window period for a standard ELISA test is 3 months. So no 21 days negative would not give you a conclusive negative result.
Avatar f tn Is the Elisa test accurate because that's what they gave me and if not what test would you recommend?
Avatar m tn Sir, just would like to ask that for an immigration purpose i got the ELISA test one year ago and that's result was .09 out of 1.00 Cut off rate, unfortunately my immigration date expired and I had to take another test. In the second one the rate came .15 out of 1.00 Cut off rate. So my question is that why did the result reading increased is there some problem but both of my tests declared as Non-reactive. Hope you understood my problem.
Avatar m tn I am very worried, I had a Elisa blood lab test 8-10 weeks possible exposure.Possible exposure in January. I went to the doctor and he said my results were negative. Can I be assured that I am negative. I have another test scheduled in July should I be worried.
Avatar f tn rapid elisa test is which generation test, window period of rapid elisa test, serology reports are negative after 131days, is this conclusive
Avatar m tn i have taken HIV ELISA test after exposure of 5 months it came negitive the lab report is SAMPLR RECEIVED DATE 09/01/2015 SAMPLE TYPE SERUM HIV 1 & 2 ANTIBODIES BY EIA Test Description : HIV 1 & 2 Antibody TEST REPORT : NEGATIVE METHOD : ELISA O Interpretation Sample Reading 0.61 Cut off value 1.00 Positive >1.00 Negative <1.00 O NOTE Please Correlate Clinically can anyone please explain me the result.
Avatar m tn I had a risky encounter (well risky by paranoia standards) 6 months back. I waited for the long window period to get as accurate a test as possible and avoid false negatives. I walked into a hospital and got a test yesterday. The results say "anti-bodies to HIV - Non Reactive" with a reading of 0.274. The report classifies values within 0.9-0.99 as intermediate and values greater than 1 as reactive.
Avatar n tn Thigh looks wrinkle. No sores. aT 10 Weeks I took a Proviral DNA by PCR Test and Elisa Test negative. At 13 weeks, I took an Home Access test which I was HIV negative. For two weeks I had malaise, sore throat, heachache, nausea, joint pain, but still the rash. I am thinking of doing another Test in 6 months because I believe Acyclovir could of alter a false negative. I was reading that in HIV postive women Acyclovir reduces the viral load in there vagnia.
Avatar n tn How relaible is an ELISA test 4 months after a posible expousre? I am not a drug adict and I am not on any type of medication? Can I just go and live my life normally with the wife again? * I had every symptom the you can read about in the internet does thats what scaring me.
461010 tn?1208482459 The manufater (Inverness medical) doesnt say what generation its, but after reading how the test works, it works like a 2nd generation test. an the rapid test are as good as any elisa for negative result.
Avatar m tn So in short less then a month or during ARS, PCR RNA tests is best (9 -11 days after the exposure) but after a month a PCR DNA test would be best, but at this point an Elisa test would work just as good and without the risk of false positive which would make most people here go crazy. 6. RNA PCR is for early detection, test at the 14 th day after the exposure backed up by an antibody test at the 12th week is good enough to rule out HIV.
Avatar f tn The first lab again was an IFA test, and just the HSV1 was positive. HSV was negative. On the second lab it was an ELISA test (the test sensitivity says 99% for HSV1 and 92% for HSV2) and it was negative on both. Although compared to the last month ELISA test, the values for HSV1 were a little bit higher this time (5.6 vs. 4.4 of a lower than 9 scale for negative). I called both labs and told them the contradictory results. On the lab with positive results they retook the test.
Avatar m tn Could anyone tell me how accurate an Oraquick oral swab test will be at six weeks? I am well aware that three months is conclusive. I just want to know if a six week test will give me some peace of mind while I wait for three months to pass. Thank you.
Avatar m tn HIV can not be missed by all that test you have been done . If you were tested minimum 3 months post exposure as you did, your initial test is trully false reactive. But, as i said, repeat elisa one more time just for your peace and satisfaction. You are negative.
Avatar m tn thank you!
Avatar m tn ok means if in future i test by elisa and this value may become 0.80.....its still not risk ?
