elisa-test

Avatar m tn I have a question regarding testing: I got my results back today from LabCorp. It was the Trinity Captia ELISA IGG test for both 1 & 2. Both results were negative at 11.2 weeks post exposure. I also had this test done at 8.5 weeks, negative for both. What is everyone's view of this test and it's accuracy and it's likelihood to change at 16 weeks? Thanks for your help.

Avatar m tn I am very worried, I had a Elisa blood lab test 8-10 weeks possible exposure.Possible exposure in January. I went to the doctor and he said my results were negative. Can I be assured that I am negative. I have another test scheduled in July should I be worried.
Avatar f tn m also wondering how come my elisa test came back in only 48 hours, I read online that it usually takes as long as 1-2 weeks. I know from reading several posts that the comment ''your test is conclusive'' will be added by another user, but i'm just trying to get some more information on the testing procedure that could help me and hopefully help anyone that will read your further replies. Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn Herpes Elisa antibodies test IgG type specific 11/14/2012 - result: 1.89 (labcorp) ^same test (same location, labcorp) 11/20/2012 - result: 1.65 HSV2 IGG INHIBITION,ELISA (quest labs) 01/2013 - result: The HSV-2 IgG screening assay was repeated at Focus Diagnostics, and the result was not positive (i.e., the index was <1.10); thus, the inhibition study result could not be determined.
Avatar n tn 1. How about the Herpeselect Elisa test? 2. Is it ture that All patient , infected by HSV-II, could yield the specific antibody IgG after enough time ? 3. Would the IgG dispear in the recurrent patient? 4. Does the Herpeselect kit can test the microcrystalline IgG? 5. Does the Herpeselect elisa kit suit to the clinic diagnose? Thanks for your answers! Avatar n tn Dear Doc, I had protected sex until I realized at the end, that the condom broke. At day 28 I did a PCR DNA Test and it came out negative, and at day 75 I did an ELISA test, and it came out Negative, should I do another test? I read in some areas on the web where it says at 13 weeks ELISA test is conclusive, and then in some areas it is stated that 10 weeks is sufficient, what is the difference. The partner was Sex worker.
Avatar m tn I asked what kind of test they perform on subjects blood for HIV and its Elisa test... 1. i need to know how reliable is Elisa test in your opinion or should i go for another complicated test??? 2.. when i was in lab and the doctor came to take a blood sample i told him not to touch the needle because his hands might be dirty with some other persons blood..
Avatar m tn Is the ELFA test method an improved ELISA (as explained by the doctor at Apollo) and is it a Duo test/4th generation test? 3> Do I need to get another ELISA done at a different lab? Appreciate you response. Thanks, Hivedoff P.S: I have already sked a few related questions in the doctors forum, which have been kindly answered by Dr. EWH and Dr.HHH. But, I wanted a more specific answer about Apollo Hospital and if the ELFA test in India is approved ?
Avatar f tn 6 weeks after the last encounter I had an Elisa and a Western blot. The Elisa was reactive, the Western Blot came back indeterminate. The lab person told my provider he didn't think I was positive, but would need to retest in a month. He told my provider it happens sometimes with women who have had kids. Yesterday (4 weeks later at 10 weeks since last encounter) I went to a testing center where I could have anonymous testing done.
Avatar m tn i have got an elisa test done for hiv 3 years after exposure. my test confirmed that i was negative. do i need to get retested or can i be assured that i am hiv negative. and yeah thanks for answering my previous questions, it helped me a great deal. you all are doing a great job , thumbs up....
Avatar m tn Got negative Elisa antibody test at exactly 11 weeks post low exposure and all was well until week 14 past exposure when I came down with severe fever with high temperature and began to become anxious again about exposure. Since then I've been nervous about hiv again and was hoping to get a few answers. Is 11 weeks elisa conclusive and are any Ars symptoms way too late at 14 weeks? Thanks for help and I assume I'm just being paranoid again.
Avatar f tn The internet seems like a logical place to turn to in these situations but much of time it just fuels more fear. Answers to anxiety-driven questions just generate more questions, etc.
Avatar m tn When I tested at 15 weeks, unbeknownst to me, they ordered a HSV DNA PCR blood test instead of an ELISA antibody test. I was negative for both HSV1 and HSV 2 by this test. I went back to the clinic today, 6 days after my blood was drawn for the pcr test, and asked for an ELISA as I read pcr by blood is not proven.
Avatar m tn hi sir any body tell me i have chancs for hiv when my hiv elisa test negaitive after 4 months mark after 2 months more, ie for 6 months??
Avatar m tn The answers i got gave some information but did not answer directly, such as the info by dr gonzales was not clear whether they used an ELISA test for HIV 1 and a seperate ELISA test for HIV 2, or whether the one test tests for both. I realise you get alot of people asking questions and delving further to find problems (so i'm not trying to be personal), but I think I have been reasonable in my questioning, and what i have written.
Avatar f tn I had an hiv test done and I got the result 4 hours after. So why is that, that some elisa test results take so long?
Avatar m tn 1) Is Elisa 3rd an easy test to do and very difficult to make errors when a lab performs it? Want to trust lab, used it for years, but being a small lab, if Elisa is a complex process,I start doubting of a lab error or false neg 2)Could my shock/deppression, lead to a late seroconversion maybe having low defenses at that time?If I seroconverted near the third month.... would the Elisa be accurate? .
Avatar m tn 1. If the ELISA test is negative a western blot test is not needed. A negative ELISA test is conclusive. particularly so long after exposure.. 2. No, there is no risk for HIV from the cut that you experienced. This is not something for you to waste your time worrying about.
