elisa-test

Avatar m tn cmia reported to be positive in that report ELISA is negative. Respectively on 8 March, 30 March and 3 may go on a test center for HIV, the test is ELISA HIV1 2 (Ag AB), report the result is negative. I would like to ask the doctor I can exclude the?? and test center staff told me that CMIA inspection accuracy than ELISA high.
Avatar m tn I noticed that in the results section of the HIV 1 test said the following HIV 1/O/2 ABS -ICMA. My question is does the standard ELISA test check for HIV 1 AND 2? I ask this because the the results look like the test checks for BOTH and for subtype O (ie. 1/O/2). Did I waste money on the HIV 2 antibody test? The HIV 2 test was kind of expensive.

Avatar n tn You posted a thread in the HIV livng with forum saying you already have been diagnosed HIV+. What are you doing here again? Why not just go get the regular antibody test, they are accurate and the rapid ones give instant results?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar f tn I had a test done I'm assuming an elisa. My doctor said it was negative. I just don't understand why I'm getting billed for a confirmation test which is a western bot after positive elisa? I always thought if you have a positive elisa, you are told by the Dr and have to get further testing through the western bot.
Avatar f tn how accurate is a negative elisa test 3 weeks post risky exposure for a woman (unprotected sex) with a hiv positive man? my doctor says its 100% accurate, is this true....
Avatar m tn with refer to no.1. it seems HIV antigen (for ELISA test) could withstand for long period after taken out from human body? In addition, may I know what should do and dont's before blood sampling for ELISA test for HIV? e.g. fasting, take medicine, smoking, sufficient sleep, no fever etc....
Avatar m tn Everywhere it says that the DUO test is a combination of 3rd generation ELISA + p24 antigen test. Me interested in this question. If the laboratory does DUO test - is possible, that laboratory used of 1st. or 2nd. generation ELISA test + p24 antigen, without 3rd generation ELISA? Or everytime must be used 3rd generation ELISA?
Avatar f tn my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
Avatar m tn elisa test is an extremely accurate test. Its window period is 3 months after the last exposure. A negative result, which is given by taking this test 3 months after an exposure, is fully conclusive.
Avatar m tn So the test I had mentioned is conclusive at 4 months? Both tests I had were non reactive.
Avatar n tn At six weeks, I had a PCR DNA and a PCR RNA both undetectable and elisa negative. Also, at 9 weeks, I had an elisa negative and a PCR RNA negative. For someone who is hiv+ and has not developed antibodies, wouldn't one of the PCR's detect the virus?
Avatar n tn The duo test IS an ELISA, combined with a test for HIV p24 antigen. If a duo test is positive at 7 weeks, it is because HIV antibody is present. Therefore, an ELISA antibody test will always be positive in that circumstance. If your duo test is positive, there is no point to repeating an ELISA; you have HIV and that's all there is to it. If so, you need to immediately make an appointment with a doctor or clinic for proper medical care.
