He said that HIV rapid test and HIV ELISA are not as accurate as CLIA method.He said he will confirm if i am negative or not by CLIA results only.Even if CLIA is negative he said i need a western Blot test.
Is it correct what he said?
Does the results change with CLIA ?
Just 2 hours back i gave the sample again and the results will come in another 1 hour.
she wrote Urine for Elisa test. I gave Urine sample.. After ten min. they came out with report. On the microbiology report they worte Urine for Pregnancy : Positive (By Elisa Method).
I just back from the hospital ...right now am so much worried and tensed...Yesterday i told my doctor that i am so much hungry and wanted to eat every 3 hours.. she suggested me to take a blood test... Today the reports came... The sad thing is i got TSH... Am posting my results

I have been in a monogoms relationship for a year. Appx. 5 mons ago my girlfriend was diagnosed with molluscum(MCV). She had a few bumps that were treated and went away within a few mons. Appx. 1 mon. after she was diagnosed I too developed a few visible bumps (fleshcolored, painless, umbilicated). I visited the doctor and was diagnosed with MCV. Fast-forward to today. I have no rashes, but my girlfriend developed one small bump near her genitals.

my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
I am taking a microbiology class starting next week. The microbiology class has a lab component. My partner and I are trying to conceive, and I hope to be pregnant by October. This will be the middle of the semester. My OB says to use "Universal Precautions" in lab, and I should be fine. I'm seeking a second opinion to ease my mind. Is there any reason I should postpone a pregnancy while taking a microbiology class/lab?

Thank you very much for your help.But,I have a test Colloidal Gold 3rd generation from hospital only ,I didn't have an ELISA test. Is there any difference?
The doctor told me that my ELISA test was positive and so they sent my blood sample for an Antigen Western Blot test which came back negative. The doctor told me that 99,999% the Elisa test was false because of other factors that might affect the blood but he asked me to retest in one week.
Is it possible that I have contacted Hiv?
If so, how?
I used a condom and it didn't break. I also cannot have Hiv from previus relationships because I tested Hiv negative 9 months ago.
