I know that a 7 week test is not conclusive, this is why I took another one today close to 3 months. When i was at the labratory (private) i noticed the "diagnostic machine" that possibly my test was performed.
I am anxious waiting the results and i try to find some optimism this why i ask about "generation question".
In many cases the clinics do not know which type of test is in use. They will just say it's an antibody test and to test outside the window period.
I asked the health advisor here what type of test they used when they tested me at 28 days. She was a little taken aback I asked and said it was just a normal antibody test.
It was only after I tested outside the window that I found out the test they use is a combined Antibody / P24 Antigen test.
Rapid tests are ELISA tests and don't need a machine to process them. A standard ELISA needs a machine to process the results.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
hey doc and all moderators. Greetings. I have some questions hope you will answer it. 1. How do i know that elisa method approved by fda?2.how do i know that elisa is which generation?3. And what is different between old ge. Elisa and new ?i mean they changed testing machine?or used the same old machine and do some different things?what if elisa test they don't approved by fda? Cant we trust it's negative results?
In the 35 day of the four test is negative, I come from China, but I worry about the Chinese made machine, the machine may not be advanced. And do a quick test before the two are positive, which makes me very worried, I have been thinking about the problem of two positive, I can not forget. Do I need to do the test again? If there is no question why quickly test two times are positive, and now I can not judge whether the test paper is correct or the hospital is correct.
m not sure the generation of my elisa test. I ask lab and they said me that the test they performed to me it was 3rd generation but i don't trust a lot them , the reason is that i live in Venezuela and i don't belive that for a lab of resources not very high they could have this expensive technology ( 3rd generation test) . In the case the test was practiced to me wasn't 3rd generation but 2nd generation the probably of 95 % still remain? thanks .
Tridot is an ELISA test that doesn't need a machine to obtain it's results just like all other Rapid antibody tests. They are ELISA tests.
the test you made is obsolete and useless, you need architect or elecsys machine which are old as well but the ones to give hbsag quan t results in iu/ml
you also need hbvdna, hbeag/hbeab, fibroscan, utrasound to tell
to see those who cured hbv make a serach "memebers who cleared hbsag"
I tested positive ( it was 1,3 I think, over 1,1 is considered positive) on a combined (HSV 1 and 2 together) IgG ELISA antibody test. I redid it. The result was the same. Then I did a PCR of saliva in the herpes centre (in Russia). Positive 30% (not really sure what it means). The doctor from this centre told me I definitely have HSV (it was not specified which one).
I took with me the Western Blot and Elisa test that showed I had 4 active bands on it. The blood test she did showed that my CD 57 is 20 and my vitamin D and B 12 are real low. She wants me to take Doxy and Flagyl for next 4 weeks and see how I do. She states that she cant say for sure that Lyme is casuing my immune system to be beat down but she is treating me like it.
So my question is this: She suggest doing the Ignex test for Bartonella to be sure.
Took my 12 week Elisa HIV test on Friday and I am still waiting on my test results. I called my doctor today (Tuesday) and was told the results are still pending. I am starting to worry again on why they are taking so long? In the past they only took 3 days!! Just looking for some support as my anxiety is starting to increase waiting for these results. I had a broken condom incident with a female on a 1 night stand. That is the reason for the test.
