A friend of mine took a random HIV test, the ELISA blood test at a diagnostic lab and the result came out positive. Completely aghast, my friend took a retest at the same lab and went to two other hospitals to get tested. One of the two hospitals conducted the ELISA on two separate kits, both these kits reported negative results.The other hospital too reported a negative result.

Positive for HSV-2, negative for others ( HIV, HSV1, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea ). The herpes test kit used was HerpeSelect ELISA for HSV-1 and HSV-2. Specifically, the HerpeSelect 1 ELISA result was 0.35 and the HerpeSelect 2 ELISA result was 8.79
I repeated the tests in September 2009. A different provider who also used HerpeSelect ELISA. Same results as the testing in May - postive for HSV-2, negative for all others.
However, the testing center at my hospital could not give me an appointment for those 4 weeks for ELISA testing, after which I asked my senior if he could write orders for me so that I could get it tested from a private lab.(We don't have ready kits in our country). So I was told that it was of no use then as I did not have a baseline.
Does a test done at 13 weeks after posible exposure of herpes accurate? The test was that was done was Elisa by calbiotech. Results:
AB antiherpes II IGG NEGATIVE 0.60. Reference index <0.9 negative
AB antiherpes II IGM NEGATIVE 0.05 Reference index <0.9 negative
Is this test any good? Have not had any outbreaks only a funny feeling inside of penis. 2 doctors did physical exam and they did not find anything so i had this test done. Can i rely on it?

i had an unprotected vaginal sex with a women who is hiv +. After 6 weeks i did anti hiv elisa antibody test(in turkey used 3. Generation kits). And it is negative. What is the chance the test can turn positive or not. İ am 30 years old healthy , no drugs ,no alchol and sports man. Now it is 2. Years after test and i afraid of to do a new test.

02) and a (LabCorp ELISA) high positive HSV-1 (28.1) I tried to get a Western Blot test. My local Quest does not offer that option, but they referred me to LabCorp with the following test number: 138487
I proceeded to get a request from my GP and blood samples were taken. I am now waiting for results.
Experts: Could you please confirm that this is actually the Western Blot?
I phoned up this HIV testing place today and they offer an antibody test at 4 weeks which is 96% accurate they said. Is this true now that you dont have to wait 3 months then for an antibody test?
2 tested in UAE because if the authorities would find out that the person has HIV they would cancel the visa end export the person from the country immediately. So, I have used the Rapid Test Kits (2nd to 9th week – each week I got tested) that I have ordered on line and the results are negative Thanks God but still not sure that these online Chinese test kits from Singapore are reliable enough to get me the right results.

today is the 12week after esposure and i went to an aid foundation which offers rapid test and mine turns out negetive i still went to another foundation and had a rapid test again negetive again went to clinic again negetive. my question is how reliable is rapid test here in malaysia because i ask the clinics they told me 99.8% but i want to know do i need further testing like elisa. the other foundation told me their test is equivalent to EIA.
for years now, a standard elisa will pick up group O
