My friend had brain edema due to japanese encephalitis around in June, 2013. I would be interested to see how a Western Blot and Elisa stack up. There was a question there yesterday about some WB taking longer than others for reasons unknown. The site said something to the effect of 20% or blood takes an additional week or so. I would also like to know why that is?
Personally I have never been tested for any STD's but have always practiced safe sex. This site has taught me alot. I plan to use some information to teach my teenage sons more about safe sex.
That the TPHA test will become positive BEFORE the RPR (when I were actually infected) is a common sense in the USA? Almost all Japanese websites (I am of Japanese origin) and the doctor say that the RPR becomes reactive 1-2 weeks before the TPHA. Are we dealing with different tests? I have been tested in a Japanese clinic.

Listed in death certificate cardiac arrest (removed from life support), encephalitis and delerium. How hard is encephalitis to diagnose and how possible is it that an adult man could go to the hosptial 4 times compalining of being so ill he needs to be admitted and his encephalitis be missed.
He had chest xrays each day. He had blood work, urology, CT scan, lab bact-micr, ekg each of the visits. He was prescribed.
although slight increase in protein, c) I actually got better for a couple days and symptoms went away after the severe onset then came back with another headache which doesnt happen with encephalitis, and d) most people with encephalitis my age (22) get better after a couple months or at least see improvements unless they had it so severe they go unconscious.
A possibility is a may have some strange virus like a stealth virus or something but I doubt that too.
I had a blood test recently and the report mentions i do not have any STDs except HSV1.

I am a little scared about the HSE (Encephalitis) caused by HSV1.
Please let me know if there are tests that could determine if the HSV1 is affecting the brain to cause HSV1.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.

my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
