but i am still worried , cause i donot think japan got herpeselect which produced by usa,maybe they use something else to do the test and misses. and also i read that a small proportion of folks donot prodcued detectable antibodys even after one year , and i am afraid i was one of them.
so how can i get peace of mind. since i live in japan, i have no access to WB.

So in short less then a month or during ARS, PCR RNA tests is best (9 -11 days after the exposure) but after a month a PCR DNA test would be best, but at this point an Elisa test would work just as good and without the risk of false positive which would make most people here go crazy.
6. RNA PCR is for early detection, test at the 14 th day after the exposure backed up by an antibody test at the 12th week is good enough to rule out HIV.

I see myself healthy, after my testing, I was informed that the Elisa test was positive and needs confirmatory. The nurse said, we will wait for the confirmatory test. When I heard the news, i started feeling numbness and tingling in my legs and hands every night and day and does not stop. I keep on being very worried. As I wait for the confirmatory test, is the numbness related to HIV or anxiety?
I tried meditating and emptying my thoughts, I did a rest from work and I felt good and relax.
Sorry I dont understand well your exposure, IC test is a Rapid Test, they are as good as an Elisa for a negative result, a positive result would have to be confirmed by a Western Blot, or IFA, if your exposure was protected then you were never at risk, but even a sinlge unprotected anal penetration can trasmit hiv, Oral sex carries only a very small risk.

I had an HIV ELISA test, the full name of the test was Immunochromatographic assay rapid test, and got the results half and hour later, they were negative. However I live in South Korea and I am not sure how trustworthy the results. Would the test not show up negative anyway if I am going through the symptoms of acute HIV infection?
To make it short, I have had an Elisa test at 3,5,7,8 months(mix of Elisa by quest, ICMA by labcorp, and oraquick advance)post last exposure, in which all were negative. I also had a negative pcr dna hiv-1 at six months, an hiv-1 Rna at 8 1/2 months that were negative. I continue to have symptoms of white tongue which have improved with an antifungal mouth rinse. I am concerned that my testing may have missed a strain that is more prevalent overseas.
I just got a test result and I'd like to see if anyone can tell what test was used to get this, and how reliable this test might be. I was tested positive for HSV-1 in the US before but when I got tested in Japan I tested positive for both HSV-1 and HSV-2.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.

my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
