Has anyone tested positive for the IgG test for toxoplasmosis? If so, were you negative/positive for the IgM test?
I tested positive for the IgG antibodies and just did the IgM test to see if there is any current infection. Prayers going up.

Why is your doctor reluctant to give you the test? I asked my doctor to get the test done and she graciously said OK. If you or your insurance are paying for it....then why tell you no? I did it for peace of mind. I can see you are worried about Toxo. I just don't understand why a doc would say no to something like that. You are probably fine, but it doesn't hurt to double check, and it is a simple blood draw. If you really want this test you should request it again.
Our cat is being treated for possible seizures. CBC came back normal except for a blood cell commonly associated with inflamation and toxoplasmosis. With all the blood work normal except for that one we began treatment with Primor 120 mg prescribed by our vet. Now our cat is taking quick shallow breaths, is lethargic, not eating or drinking that we can tell. Normally he will fight and try to get away when picked up but today he definitely seems to have a lot less energy.
I was under the impression that toxoplasmosis was in kitty litter because of cat feces. You could probably google it.

Could I have been contaminated by bacteria? Specifically toxoplasmosis, which I know is a danger during pregnancy. I just took one bite and then immediately realized my hands were not clean.

To answer your questions in order:
You probably did examine your socks, since you are clearly assiduous about examining everything else.
You would smell and see cat poop. It is not invisible, nor microscopic, nor liquid that would soak in. It looks like small versions of your own poop.
You do sound pretty paranoid. Your household is not endangered by cat poop.
Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
toxoplasmosis can cause serious problems for an unborn baby. If you pick it up during early pregnancy, it can lead to miscarriage.

I have 3 cats and I am negative for toxoplasmosis meaning that yes one of my cats could have contaminated for this disease before or during my pregnancy. BUT my cats are indoor cats and do not eat raw meat = highly unlikely they would carry this disease.
When TTC I always took care of the litter box with a little shovel, never any direct contact. After I got pregnant, my husband took care of it.
Not really. The concern is toxoplasmosis, but there are several things to know about the concern.
1. A cat actually has to have toxoplasmosis to be putting out the toxoplasmosis in his or her poops.
2. Indoor cats don't get toxoplasmosis.

m 9w3d pregnant with my first child and I am not sure if any of you had to get, or requested, a toxoplasmosis test. I just watched monsters inside me about a couple who's child got infected from his mother and was left legally blinded by the infection. I do order my meats medium rare and have 3 cats for over 5 years. Should I request my doctor to get tested and how soon should I do this?
i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV
my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it,
so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test"
