Elisa test for parvo

Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test for parvo

elisa-test

Avatar f tn t until I treated for six months and then had an IGenex western blot, that I was CDC positive. I also test positive for parvo. I think all it takes is a little genetic weakness in our immune response genes to make us susceptible to infection. Then that infection makes us more susceptible to others. Some people get the infections, but never get sick. As far as the herxing goes, that's a good indicator of infection. What other infections may you have that can cause herxing?
Avatar f tn You should be made aware that the parvo virus can live in the ground where ever your dog has been for SEVEN years.
Avatar f tn T free direct 0.96, reverse T3 serum 13.5. TPO 392 and thyroglobulin antibodies 1.0. Positive for Parvo B19 virus, IgG 4.5 and IgM 0.1. I have been taking Synthroid 100 mcg.and Cytomel 50 mcg. for 5 years. I have Hashimotos thyroid. I am at the end of the rope with headaches, chronic fatigue, muscle aches and weakness, weight gain, insomnia, dry hair and skin. I want to sleep all the time. Help this 54 year old female survive.
Avatar m tn However, if the diarrhea gets worse, there is vomiting and the pup seems worse, do get it to your Vet right away and they can test for Parvo.
Avatar n tn Although an autopsy would be the best way to find out why your puppy died, if you have any samples of the bloody stool left in the yard, you could take it to your veterinarian for a parvo test, since the virus is passed in the stool and is very hardy and can live for up to a year in the environment.
Avatar m tn The vet may not have realized that Max wasn't vaccinated against parvo, and perhaps that's why he did not mention it as a possibility. If, in fact, it was parvo that killed Max, possibly your other dog was vaccinated against it before you got him? Again, IF it was parvo, that would explain why Max was vulnerable to the virus and not the other dog.
Avatar f tn I love my new vet ! Not only did his clinic find out immediately why one of my dogs had diarrhea, even after two other vets missed it.... but my vet shares the same views that I have on vaccinations. I had taken one of my dogs to have her rabies shot and we did the vaccination. Afterwards, he noticed in my dog's previous medical records that I like to have titers ran first, before I vaccinate my dogs for other diseases.
Avatar n tn I hope some of our other members will see your question, because I really don't know about yard disinfection for parvo. I know it's not easy to disinfect the inside of your home either since parvo can live quite a while. For bacterial and control outside, you can try treating with a product called Consan Triple Action 20 (20-20-20 on the label). It's available at most garden supply stores for use outside as well as inside.
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn Is it normal for my dog to be extremely weak and tired after receiving an IV and meds for Parvo treatment? I took her in this morning to the vet and was given all the material needed for treatment. However, now my dog is extremely sleepy and weak, and she can't even stand up now. PLEASE HELP!
1456473 tn?1365827455 This may or may not be Parvo, only a test done at the Vet's office can determine that for sure. I would think the pup would have continued a decline and become very chronically ill. It may be some type of a virus. To be on the safe side, if the pup is still showing symptoms, I would definitely get it to the Vet for a check up.
Avatar n tn He is almost 18 months and is a shih tzu, he is doing much better. Its not parvo. we are waiting for test results to return. He is now eating and drinking and being very playful, but only minor changes on his feaces. Thank you so much for answering my question.
Avatar n tn Trust me, Get your guy to the Vet ASAP....The Parvo test is a quick, in house fecal test.....The chances of survival are better if caught early & it's not worth the risk!!!!!! Make the call, now...
Avatar f tn Im pretty sure parvo is what dogs get..
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn Or could it have been Parvo? Parvo has symptoms as you described also. Sorry for your loss. I have 4 rescues now, but have felt the sadness of a lost one.
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar m tn A negative Western blot test means the ELISA test was a false positive test. The Western blot test can also be unclear, in which case more testing is done. Negative tests do not rule out HIV infection. There is a period of time (called the "window period") between HIV infection and the appearance of anti-HIV antibodies that can be measured. This period is 3 months from exposure. However, negative WB at 45 days is certainly very encouraging.
4640758 tn?1357483092 s had Parvo, she may not need annual boosters for the Parvo virus. At the beginning, with my dog, I took her for her yearly shots, without thinking. Then it dawned on me, and I spoke to the vet and had her titer tested every year. And she showed constant immunity to Parvo! You could maybe mention this to your vet and see what he says?
Avatar n tn We have a 3 month old human baby boy that was born with gastritis (intestines outside his body). He was in the hospital for a month and has been out for 2 months now. Can our baby get sick from the parvo disease that our pup died from?
