237053 tn?1258828426 Hope, Thank you so much for your help!! I've been doing a lot of research on these. The CD57 NK pos cells are supposebly only effected from lyme and sometimes HIV. Well I know for a fact I don't have HIV. Low numbers indicate lyme... mine is 13 which is really low. I guess it measures how effected your immune system is an how bad the lyme is. I still can't find hardly any info on the Elispot.
Avatar n tn skin parasites? I hate to alarm you, but with it so prevalent, you may want to consider being checked for MRSA. I've known two people with it in the past year. They were healthy and middle-aged. Clearly on the mend now, it's something to rule out when someone is suffering. In both cases, they didn't know wth they had.
Avatar m tn Yes there are. Your Vet can test both the stools and the blood for worms. If the cat is testing negative, it doesn't mean there isn't an infection. You say you cat has had the 'runs' for more than a year. Is it constant? or are there episodes of 'diarhhea? have you tried to keep track of what your cat has eaten whe precepts the 'runs' What food is he eating? how often? What environment does he live... urban or rural or in between?
Avatar f tn After some time she started to have the same symptoms. For all this time I have made ~20 HIV tests - Elisa 4th generation, one test for my baby too. After 7 months thanks Good, all negative, but symptoms still are present. Could Elisa test not catch some rare strains that are in Turkey. What could else it be??? Plese help, I am so scared for my baby. plese...
Avatar f tn Do you always have to have weight loss and diarrea with intestinal parasites? Can the small intestine be tested for parasites somehow? Will parasites show up in a CT scan or MRI? I have a cyst in my liver, but MD was not concerned, wants to wait a year to repeat the ultrasound. I read that parasites can take up residence in the liver too. Meanwhile I am on protonix and bentyl when pain is very bad. No relief from either. Any ideas would be a[preciated!
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar m tn A negative Western blot test means the ELISA test was a false positive test. The Western blot test can also be unclear, in which case more testing is done. Negative tests do not rule out HIV infection. There is a period of time (called the "window period") between HIV infection and the appearance of anti-HIV antibodies that can be measured. This period is 3 months from exposure. However, negative WB at 45 days is certainly very encouraging.
Avatar n tn The specialist prescribed tests mainly abdominal scan, blood test, HiV test, and stool test for me. All said I was OK, except the stool test which came back positive for H-Pylori. This was February 2021. The doctor prescribed Normagut Capsules, Elcorid, and then Nexium. I have been on Nexium for 20 days now, yet the pain has not subsided. It has even become worse and has spread to the back, all my chest region, and my bone that connect my shoulders. Sometimes, I do see blood-stained stool.
Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Avatar n tn Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Avatar m tn with refer to no.1. it seems HIV antigen (for ELISA test) could withstand for long period after taken out from human body? In addition, may I know what should do and dont's before blood sampling for ELISA test for HIV? e.g. fasting, take medicine, smoking, sufficient sleep, no fever etc....
Avatar f tn how accurate is a negative elisa test 3 weeks post risky exposure for a woman (unprotected sex) with a hiv positive man? my doctor says its 100% accurate, is this true....
Avatar f tn it happened that i am familiar with the ELISA procedure... for me it takes up to 6 hours at best... here it was less than 3..... yep, negative of course. ositive would take a western blot which as i know may take days...
Avatar m tn i have got an elisa test done for hiv 3 years after exposure. my test confirmed that i was negative. do i need to get retested or can i be assured that i am hiv negative. and yeah thanks for answering my previous questions, it helped me a great deal. you all are doing a great job , thumbs up....
Avatar m tn ve 30.50.60.70.80.86.92.115 elisa test. it necessary to obtain the test to be negative anymore, all the days of 6 months?
Avatar m tn 1 percent of the population is a low incidence of hiv, every elisa test is good at 3 months, that you have been told already, with each generation of test they get to detect a little bit earlier, elisa has been used to detect many viruses other than hiv, its an extremely reliable way to test for a virus, to culture for the virus takes to long. i doubt if they still use first generation test unless its home access test, also rapid test like oraquick are equilivant to 2 nd gen testing.
Avatar f tn my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
