On 2009, for the first time doctors diagnosed me night epilepsy but then they diagnosed migraine.
Avatar m tn a rapid test is fine at any stage, results dont change 1 year or 10 years assuming its based on the particular risk you just posted and no any other risk.
Avatar f tn Also, some drs have been able to get approval for use for different application for extenuating circumstances. So if your dr could be an advocate you to obtain approval for you despite the approved use that could work for you. That would have to be one aggressive dr though. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am bit concerned of my blood test results. I was suggested to do a blood test because of the eczema for IgE result. However, I found out that following components aren't in the scale of norms. RDW-SD 37,4 (39-53) MPV 11,1 (7,4-10,4) NEUT% 34,4 (50-70) LYMPH 2,78 (1-2,50) LYMPH% 47,40 (19-37) MONO% 12,6 (3-10) IgE 259,50 (0-100). I was told that high IgE levels show allergic reaction, however I my biggest concern is related to higher LYMPH and lower NEUT counts.
Avatar f tn I am now on antibiotics for my third sinus infection in the past three months. My pullmonologist ordered at rast test. She said that IGE levels were high, but there was no specific allergen identified. She really did not offer an explanation for the results other than the reactive airways triggered the high IGE levels. This does not make sense to me. Could the test in fact indicate elevated IGE levels without identifying a specific trigger?

Avatar n tn Thus while there are certain situations which steer us in the direction of recommending testing, ultimately it is the HIV antibody tests that tell the story and nothing else. This is certainly true for liver function test s (the ALT), urine proteins and IgE antibody levels. Each of these lab tests can be caused by a long, long list of causes, some infectious, many not.

Avatar f tn s been a reaction to cause the elevated IgE. Usually the levated IgE I think is elevated during a RAST test for allergies. What did your Dr test for? Allergies or Immunoglobulin assay panel to find the higher levels? Autoimmune disorders, too, can show up with elevated immunoglobulins I think, but a different one than IgE but I'm not a doctor, just a mom with a lot of experience with highly allergic RAST + kids to all sorts of allergins.

Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, the normal IgE levels fall below 100. Any level above 500 is higher and is suggestive of allergy or parasitic infection. He is known to have abnormally high levels. It can be seen in patients with atopic or allergic dermatitis. It is usually seen secondary to exposure to allergen and subsequent reaction is mediated by IgE antibodies. His body is known to hypersensitive to certain things.
Avatar f tn There are several causes for high IgE levels, the most common of which is allergies. You should really discus the results with the ordering physician for his interpretation and why he ordered the test.

Avatar n tn A friend of mine suffers with breathing problem during winter. She was tested for IgE level and she was found with 375.60 IgE. What does she need to do and what are the possible treatement?
Avatar m tn It was the, number of things comment that got me on the net again where I stumbled upon a test that apparently looks for IgE specific antibodt that was said to be usefull in babies as Ige is not passed through mother to child where as IgG is. I think perhaps im looking to far into it. It was the 2nd med i couldnt tolerate and I find that the docs dont wanna beleive the medication as the cause and leave it as a last resort as the cause. Thankyou kindy for your quick repsonse.

Avatar f tn Hi, My son is 7 years old. Has had a elevated IGE for some time, but I am just now being informed of this. Has had food allergies in the past, but now I am being told he does not. He does not have any symptoms of hyper IGE. No skin issues, No asthma, all lab work is normal except IGE levels. Both my Pediatrician and Allergist, plus specialists at the Childrens hospital have stated they do not think he has any cancers.
