2013241 tn?1328136114 i have been detected with Entamoeba Histolytica & budding yeast presence in STOOL. i have to go to toilet at around 3-4 AM daily & thereafter i cant get sleep. is there any relation of not getting sleep & presence of Entamoeba Histolytica & budding yeast in STOOL?
Avatar m tn Or they do a pinworm test. Were you treated for the Entamoeba histolytica, Balantidium coli and Giardia because those were positive by your results above? The scrotum itching is not related to toxoplasma it is usually a fungus. You can get a spray or cream for "Jock Itch" or something with fluconazole or terbinafine in it. You should see a dermatologist for the body itching. Do you drink enough water? 8 glasses of water and/or other drinks like tea a day.

Avatar m tn Amoebiasis is due to invasion of the intestinal wall by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. A stool examination can help detect this. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn i have gone to the hospital for many times but without any good help. i was once diagonised and was positive for cyst of entamoeba histolytica. i took metronidazole, then tinidazole and it seems to stop for 2 to 3 days and then pick up again. after some research i have come to beleive i am suffering from acute amoebiasis(http://suite101.com/article/amoebiasis-signs-and-symptoms-of-the-disease-a230495). thats is the only safe explanation i could get from my condition.
Avatar f tn I tested positive for C diff with a stool test, and after 9 days of Flagyl I retested as negative, though the test was done the same week I stopped treatment. Sometimes liver cysts, particularly small ones like mine, are incidental findings on MRIs. It's not necessarily an indication that it has spread to the liver, but it's something I could bring up with a specialist.
5463760 tn?1368383965 t know, my stool test showed entamoeba histolytica, my CT scan of the abdomen with dye this time, showed all normal, except for mildly enlarged spleen, and my blood work is normal but my creatinine level is 1.1 and sometimes 1.0, when in the past it was 0.7 before all this illness starts, my other blood work i guess is normal too, any ideas please?! thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Amoebic (is caused by the amoeba Entamoeba histolytica.) and bacillary (Shigellosis, Campylobacteriosis, Salmonellosis). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysentery Diagnosis can be confirmed by stool examination and culture. The first and main task in managing any episode of dysentery is to maintain fluid intake using oral rehydration therapy. Amoebic dysentery can be treated with metronidazole.
Avatar m tn 3 weeks ago a parasite called entamoeba histolytica was found in my stools. I took medication for 4 days and I will do another stool analysis tomorrow to check if it is gone. I was a healthy person and never had health issues. I do not know what is happening. What do you think about the link I have provided?
Avatar f tn And I have auto-immune disease with normal sed and Ana testing but that is likely due to my steroid dosage, I had very high crp for a while. It just can take a while for testing for show itself for something, journaling for triggered may help.
Avatar m tn You will need to undergo a few tests like X-rays and stool test (to rule out entamoeba). I think you should see an orthopedic specialist and a gastroenterologist too. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
Avatar f tn So, from my reading, Amoebiasis is a heading for all parasites/organisms found to cause infection from any of the amobae of the Entamoeba group. So this includes entamoeba coli (you ARE talking about the parasite and not bacterium, correct?). Here is some information about it https://www.emedicinehealth.com/amebiasis_entamoeba_histolytica_infection/article_em.htm. The main thing you need to ask your doctor is if treatment the same regardless of the amobae? I assume it is.
Avatar m tn He was tested for celiac and is fine. Tested for pheocromocytoma and is fine, Had a nueroligical test. So many things I cant think of, but no one is finding anything. What else should we be looking for?
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Blastocystis hominis and entamoeba dispar. The stool test also revealed an abnormally low level of Secretory iga (sIgA). sIgA is the predominant antibody, or immune protien the body manufacturer's and releases in mucosa linings, including the gut. It is a necessary component to protect against viruses, bacterial, parasites and other germs. Stress, anxiety, negative moods, inadequate nutrition and excessive alcohol intake are some causes of a low level of sIgA.
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar m tn A negative Western blot test means the ELISA test was a false positive test. The Western blot test can also be unclear, in which case more testing is done. Negative tests do not rule out HIV infection. There is a period of time (called the "window period") between HIV infection and the appearance of anti-HIV antibodies that can be measured. This period is 3 months from exposure. However, negative WB at 45 days is certainly very encouraging.
Avatar f tn I had this posted on the gastro forum and was told I had it on the wrong one,to try this one. My husband has had terrible diarrhea with mucas, aweful right side abdomen pain, very painful right over liver area.He says it's numb in the liver area on the inside.Been back and forth to doctors for a year now, they sent him to Louisville,Ky and they found he has a parasite called Entamoeba Hystolytica.Has been on Flagly for 3 weeks, and that has not took care of it.
Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !
Avatar n tn Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Avatar m tn with refer to no.1. it seems HIV antigen (for ELISA test) could withstand for long period after taken out from human body? In addition, may I know what should do and dont's before blood sampling for ELISA test for HIV? e.g. fasting, take medicine, smoking, sufficient sleep, no fever etc....
Avatar f tn how accurate is a negative elisa test 3 weeks post risky exposure for a woman (unprotected sex) with a hiv positive man? my doctor says its 100% accurate, is this true....
