Elisa test for ana

Common Questions and Answers about Elisa test for ana

elisa-test

Avatar m tn However I still freak of it, I just want to know is there any possibility that I catch HIV? Do I need to have the RNA test? What is the window period of ElISA test? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Anti-SS-A (Ro) and Anti-SS-B (La). About 90% or more of people with Sjögren syndrome have autoantibodies to SSA. Scleroderma (systemic sclerosis): About 60% to 90% of those with scleroderma have a positive ANA finding. In people who may have this condition, ANA subset tests can help distinguished two forms of the disease, limited versus diffuse. The diffuse form is more severe.
Avatar m tn Some background includes growing up in South Africa for 12 years and I have had a TB Vaccination when I was younger - further Lupus does run in my family (tested negative) but positive on the ANA test for something "Autoimmune" ...
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn Hello doctor Sharma I am greatfull for your answer I tested NEGATIVE for both HIV RNA and Antibody on the 26th day from my scare, These tests are they capable enough to pick up the virus IF I WAS INFECTED?? How reliable are they!! Biorad 3rd gen Igm and IgG: Antibody test GenProbe APTIMA HIV-1 qualitative assay. Sensitivity of the assay is 30 copies/mL (98.5%) and 100 copies/mL (100%).
Avatar n tn it is not just a test for Lupus we have a few antibodies that are different i think the doctor should answer this one to clear it up
Avatar n tn homogenous, speckled, or nucleolar. Rheumatoid arthritis is more or less ruled out. Depending on the pattern of ANA staining, other antibody tests will have to be done. The pattern of staining itself is quite diagnostic (for eg in SLE a homogenous pattern is seen, nucleolar pattern in scleroderma and speckled pattern in ITP and mixed connective tissue disorder and in lupus). Do discuss this with your doctor (rheumatologist) and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn My boyfriend is spanish so I want something spanish but somewhat easy for my side of the family to pronounce. So far I lean towards names ending in "na" or "la". Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I was tested for ANA and was negative but then was tested for ENA which came positive for Anti-Ro but that was the only one found on ELISA. The physician has little knowledge on this issue as he expected the ANA and other tests to be positive in a patient with SLE as it was not seen with other antibodies? I was also tested for lupus anticoagulant and that was equivocal.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. Before even reading the question itself, responding to the title: Autoimmune disorders have no effect on HIV test reliability. If you have tested negative for HIV long enough after your last possible exposure -- 4-6 weeks, depending on the specific test(s), the results are reliable, regardless of whatever autoimmune problem you may have. Now I have read the question.
3079363 tn?1363273715 Urine test when you never had the X Ray or urine test. For your piece of mind get your PCP to check the ANA again. It can go up & down so unless you consistently have a high titre I wouldn't worry. It's just really strange & a bit negligent to tell you those things & then say oh sorry disregard the X Ray & Urine info our mistake. It sound like the whole place is in chaos.
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn My ANA has always been positive/speckled for 20 years. Now it is Negative! How can that be? I have been on Synthroid for 46 years for Hashimotos. Current thyroid tests were in normal range except T3 total was 68L which I do not know what that means. Too much Synthroid?
487969 tn?1249313291 Anyone had a ANA test done for a goiter / suspected thyroiditis? Here's a laugh, the doc did another PG Test - I told him I was not prego! Any thoughts on ANA testing with goiter causing hypo / hyper symptoms and normal TSH and FT4? He also gave me samples for Prevocid b/c I "may have GERD" and not know it - I don't know, it was tender when he pressed on that area. The submandibular node is not big enough to worry about he says.
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
