Avatar f tn Rapid tests are ELISA test and are conclusive at 3 month post exposure.
Avatar m tn Being that the rapid test was taken closer to the 3 month mark, and was negative, why were four tests by the state lab (taken much earlier) indeterminate? Is the rapid test that much different from the EIA/ELISA test? Also, based on my limited research over the past month, I've never come across anything that would indicate that the EIA/ELISA test could be indeterminate. It is usually positive or negative. I also find it strange that the state lab has involved the CDC.
Avatar n tn I will go Jakarta if my villege no 3 generetion test. test shop paper print EIA (assxym). Is the test not the forum call elisa or is one old test long time no use already.
Avatar m tn if your test is third generation ELISA OR EIA which detects all hiv subtypes, then it is conclusive at or after 12 weeks. third generation elisa test not ony detects Ig G but also IgM which is the first antibody produced in response to antigen(hiv virus). after 6 weeks of infection more than 99% will test positive and at or after 12 weeks a third generation test would definintely exclude infection.
Avatar n tn Ab qualitative diagnosed test. So now I am in doupt what the differnce between EIA and ELISA test? And is there any difference in terms of implemntation method of the test or both is done in same procedure? Is it enough for me (Niegative result at 84 days) to know my HIV status or I should retest?
Avatar m tn is a lab based EIA negative test conclusive after a very weak reactive rapid test perform that same day? would the EIA detect even a small levels of antibodies which made rapid test to go off? Sorry to ask you a 'scenario' question. i promise not to extend longer this thread.
Avatar n tn after negtative 4 weeks eia, neg 52 eia pcr dna, neg eia 5 month and neg 6 month eia i got today postive eia after 9 months is it possible to have positive western bolt where is the conclusive results?
Avatar n tn The results came back negative, and when I asked what type of test was used I was told it was a EIA (Elisa). I asked which generation it was, and the doctor didn't even know! Can I assume it was third generation?
Avatar n tn Yes and ELISA test is also called a EIA or MEIA test. All the same test.
Avatar m tn None of the test gives you conclusive results before 3 months mark, counted from the last exposure.
Avatar m tn If you DID have a risk, your testing history is very perplexing. Why did you take a WB? Did you have a + ELISA antibody test? A WB is a confirmatory test, to be taken after someone tests + on an antibody (or antigen) test. If you had a risk, you need to take a simple antibody (ELISA) test at 3 months post exposure. That will be conclusive. As for the anxiety, it's normal to have anxiety if you have had a risk.
Avatar n tn i was tested hiv-ab western blot and it was found to be indterminate then i was Hiv 2 EIA non-reactive, Hiv 2 immunobolt and it too was non-reactive. I was then tested for hepatitis B and C it was non-reactive also? Please someone tell me what is going on. I was tested in Oct.06 and was negative and after that have not had unprotected sex.
Avatar n tn A test to detected both HIV1 and HIV1 by antigens and antibodies.
Avatar m tn Depending on the medical facilties available to you, and your location - an EIA, ELISA, or any kind of DUO HIV test can be taken at the 12 week mark to gain a conclusive result.
Avatar n tn Is there much of a difference in what is better and EIA/ELISA or a ICMA test? Are there any problems with an ICMA test, or are they equally as good. I have seen posted some great things about it being better than an EIA but on other posts seeing it having problems. Can someone clear this up for me. Thanks for your time and i wont bug anyone anymore i know there is already way to many questions here to begin with.
Avatar n tn Here in Quebec, they do the LIA inno test for HIV 1 and 2 nad Eia test for p24 anigen along side with indetreminate WB to confrim the elisa's reactive results. Also, I have a white tongue from 2 weeks after exposure since now( for more than 6 weeks) and I have rash on my legs. Also, I had reactive elisa on 9th of october which came back negative . (it was only 10 days after my last exposure).
Avatar n tn An ELISA test is that standard antibody test for HIV. The ELISA test is used as a "screening" test. The first test performed as part of a two-step testing process is called the "screening' test and the 2nd, test used to confirm the result of the screening test is the "confirmatory" test which is performed as a "reflex (i.e. automatically) on specimens which give a positive test result with the screening test. This is standard testing procedure.
Avatar m tn So you mean "en-ter-tise" blood test....Is that kind of EIA? Because I did not hear very clearly, so that is why I confused about that.
Avatar f tn 1) The local lab that where i tested there before, they said they are using the 4th generation of EIA, EIA means ELISA right? Does this 4th Generation of EIA included the Duo Test? 2) They ask me to come back for test once 3 months, they did not comfirm with me that i did not infected with 8 weeks test result. 3) I recently have sex with my patner, he is HIV-.
