Can HIV ANTIBODY TEST(ELISA<HIV ! & ANTIBODY) test after 6 months fi fully conclusive????? I hb done ELISA test aftr 6 mnths of exposure???? Can I be 100% confident tat I m HIV negetive as the test came back non reactive with ANTIBODY 0.020 OD........will I have to test aftr ! yr?
The doctor told me that my ELISA test was positive and so they sent my blood sample for an Antigen Western Blot test which came back negative. The doctor told me that 99,999% the Elisa test was false because of other factors that might affect the blood but he asked me to retest in one week.
Is it possible that I have contacted Hiv?

I used a condom and it didn't break. I also cannot have Hiv from previus relationships because I tested Hiv negative 9 months ago.
2) The clinic told me the test I had done (the one I am going mark as the conclusive test) was a Unigold 3rd Generation, 5th generation elisa - would this be an advanced enough test for this to be negative? It is also worth of mention I had the Labcorp DNA PCR test done 20 days outside of exposure. I went the 12 weeks, because Teak and others on this board recommend it.
You posted a thread in the HIV livng with forum saying you already have been diagnosed HIV+. What are you doing here again?
Why not just go get the regular antibody test, they are accurate and the rapid ones give instant results?
I posted a little over a month ago about receiving a positive Elisa and negative WB. We waited until a month after my tests so that way if something was there, it would have time to show up on his test. Anyway, his Elisa was negative.
I got tested with Elisa antibodies test at 20 days and results came back non reactive but index read is 0.19, teak I really trust your opinion, I want to get this out of mind, do I need to retest after 3 months, I just knew that it was protected sex but I knew that the girl I had sex with was raped before by heavy drugs user.

Because I was afraid of HIV, because I have afta in my mouth for 4 months.I had unprotected sex without ejaculation.It was high risk.The man come from Cameroon.And 2 weeks later I had ARS sympthoms.
And the stress kill of me because of HIv, and I was afraid that the test can't show up antibodies at 25 weeks furthermore, I don't know that ELISA test can detect HIV group of N?
Few days later (total 10 days after exposure) I went to medical center and took an ELISA test the result is negative. At the same time I came down with diarrhea for few weeks. About 2 weeks later I experienced rash at neck and armpit. It is recovered now.

Therefore, when i went back to USA i took a HIV DNA test by the PCR and an ELISA test after 33 days the test was done by Labcorp. The result came back NEGATIVE.

My Questions.
1.
Would a 12 week Elisa and a 16 week UniGold Rapid test still be considered conclusive if you found out a month later that your latest WBC came up low during a routine physical? A follow-up test showed that my WBC returned to normal a few weeks later. I see on the internet that immunocompromised people can take longer to seroconvert, but I am not sure if I would be in that category. I never used drugs and I'm not on chemo. Nor do I have diabetes or any other diagnosed issue.
If you DID have a risk, your testing history is very perplexing. Why did you take a WB? Did you have a + ELISA antibody test? A WB is a confirmatory test, to be taken after someone tests + on an antibody (or antigen) test.
If you had a risk, you need to take a simple antibody (ELISA) test at 3 months post exposure. That will be conclusive.
As for the anxiety, it's normal to have anxiety if you have had a risk.
They use the oraquick because for one you get results in 10 to 20 mins and they are reliable results plus they are FDA approved test the elisa test can take 2 to 5 days for the results why sit around with more worries when rapids are just as reliable with quick results
