hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
I started freeking out, being in Africa and all with the epidemic and all, and two weeks after i went to the local clinic and got tested, negative. After about 6 - 7 weeks i got tested again with the ELISA DUO test and got a false positive, positive on the first negative on the confirmatory. What are my chances of having the Virus?, im getting tested in 6 weeks.
t know in the evening and next day to the clinic to do HIV test and the result was Positive using the rapid test then I ran to the hospital to do another 2 tests so I did Elisa and Western Blot on that same day and I got my result after 5 days which came negative, then the doctor to told me to come back after 1 month to do another Western blot to confirm that was false positive and I did it and came back after 35 days to do 2nd wb and it was negative which was 35 days after the first positive
Do you think I need to worry about whatever type or group of hiv when I was tested negative two times with elisa assay for antibodies (no pcr test)? Are these tests enough sensitive and true? I see now I didn't mention in my first post that I was tested only with tests for antibodies.

I know their is a tiny and small percentage ( less than 1%) of people who won't be positive during the 3 months ( window period) and who are under chemo or other resons, let me assume I'm one of those people which is less than 1% and next week I will complete 13 weeks after my exposure and I will test for HIV but does make sence to do both PCR & Elisa to be in the clear and if thier is a virus in my blood will be discovered without waiting for another 3 months ?
And then a week later my lymph nodes acted up again (under the jaw, behind my right ear, under my armpits and both my groin) up till this moment. I took the hiv test (elisa second generation) at four and a half weeks and it was negative. I took another hiv test (elisa first generation) at ten weeks and it was still negative. Please is there anything else that could be doing this cos it just keeps pointing towards hiv. I am particularly worried for my girlfriend.
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
There is a lot of new tests but elisa is just the type of test, there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation of elisas, and there continue to be a lot of research for new tests, the newest teste tend to be rapid test accurate as elsia tests, there has been also improvement also in the NAAT tests, and some labs are trying to come up with a new 5th generation rapid test (PCR+Antibody+p24) but is not ready yet.
My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Please guide if elisa test can be 85.0 ?? What should we do next? Much worried! !

About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Hi i Just wanted to know how accurate is ELISA third generation tests is,
my last sex was at 04/11/2010 i did the first test on 22/1/2011 the result wasELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.15) i started to get worried of the number so i did a second test on 15/2/2011 just to make sure that i completed 3 monthes and the rsult came ELISA : HIV1&HIV2 NEGATIVE (0.33) i freeked out why that number is keeping rising !!
