About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though.
I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
1. How about the Herpeselect Elisa test?
2. Is it ture that All patient , infected by HSV-II, could yield the specific antibody IgG after enough time ?
3. Would the IgG dispear in the recurrent patient?
4. Does the Herpeselect kit can test the microcrystalline IgG?
5. Does the Herpeselect elisa kit suit to the clinic diagnose?

Last month I had taken a medical check up, I still remember the ELISA test was delayed about one and half hour after blood sampling due to the labarotary technician overlook the request column. Please find my question below
1) do the one and half hour delayed influence the test result?
2) I am not sure which generation they are using , does it matter?
3) My result is negative after 13 weeks exposure is it conclusive enough?
hello, i had protected sex with an hiv positive girl (i just discovered), i had sex with her twice, but she gave me several oral sex, i saw some blood on my penis in one of them, from her mouth i think.. i have no symptoms untill now, i did Elisa test 52 days after 1st time and 20 days after last time and today it´s been 2 months since 1st time (the day i saw the blood) and 1 month after our last time.
I recently went in for a consultation with a specialist in viral infections at New York Presbyterian. I went in order to resolve a history of conflicting test results. The doctor ordered a blood test and the results were negative for both HSV 1 and HSV 2.
My question is: could a full 12 ounce glass of wine (10% alcohol) the night before the test cause false negatives. That is, could the alcohol reduce the antibody count?
The doctor told me that my ELISA test was positive and so they sent my blood sample for an Antigen Western Blot test which came back negative. The doctor told me that 99,999% the Elisa test was false because of other factors that might affect the blood but he asked me to retest in one week.
Is it possible that I have contacted Hiv?
If so, how?
I used a condom and it didn't break. I also cannot have Hiv from previus relationships because I tested Hiv negative 9 months ago.
i had a hiv blood test 4 months and a half after an exposure, i am not from america but did the test at a good private clinic from my city. nurses there told me 3 weeks would be enough for a sure answer. i dont know what test was that, but constantly repeated it and 4 months and a half later i was still negative. my question is-would the test, if a simple antibody one, be accurate after 4 months and a half?
my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
Your multiple negative HIV tests prove without doubt that you were not infected with HIV last June. For all practical purposes, it is not possible to catch HIV and have a negagive ELISA test after 21 weeks. Your blood count results and symptoms, axillary nodes or anything else, are irrelevant. You don't have HIV.
If you are convinced your axillary lymph nodes are inflamed, see a provider to confirm it and learn the cause. It isn't HIV.
So the test I had mentioned is conclusive at 4 months? Both tests I had were non reactive.
