I was recently started on Effexor 75MG about a month ago and last week up to 150mg and know was told to go up to 225 this week. They also have my on Remeron at nite 7.5mg in addition to Campral - (I am an alcoholic who is trying to stay sober) I was recently divorced after 20 years and miss my family terribly. Trying Prayer. Anyway, I am a member here - any suggestions or words of encouragement would most appreciated.
My wife, a 46 year old stay at home mom, has taken antidepressants times 15 years (Effexor now), and about 6 years ago started taking hydrocodone every day for back pain. She has told me that the hydrocodone sometimes makes her feel "out of control" and anxious. Also makes it hard to focus and depresses her sex drive. She has gotten very emotional, angry and tearful when she used up her prescription and had to wait a couple days to refill it.

I've been on Effexor XR for over 10 yrs, orignally perscribed for pre-menopause gradually upped to 300 mg. I've been on 300 mg for 3 yrs, long story short; no longer have health insurance due to a divorce so I started cutting back to 150mg per day from what I had left (6 days).
I appealed the insurance issue which took (60 days) with his (ex-husbands)HR Dept and was denied, thinking I would be reinstated and able to get my meds.
would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression.
I switched from effexor to wellbutrin. I had to be on both medications at the same time for a long time because of the effexor withdrawal... it was so hard to come off the effexor, I was at the lowest dose for a very long time, 25mg, because I couldn't get off of it the withdrawal symptoms were too bad for me.
I take Effexor for depression and forgot to bring it with me on a 3 day getaway with my 2 young boys. My girlfriend who was also there offered me a Xanax for the 8 hr. drive home just in case I lose it (my mind that is). I only took half and it seemed to work great. The drive was a breeze.
Today however, I took my usual dosage of Effexor and now I'm feeling extremely detached. Like I just don't care about anything that is happening - good or bad.
My doctor has suggested that I come off effexor (which i have been on for over 2 years) and start taking Wellbutrin XL. I was to take both of them for 1 week and then stop the effexor and take Wellbutrin only. I have not been feeling very good very tense, anxious, lightheaded and chest pains. I spoke to a pharmasist who suggested stopping the effexor straight away and continuing with the Wellbutrin.
hi,My DR,switched me from ativan to xanax on this past Thurs,I feel kinda more depressed and nausted,He also gave me Effexor 75 mg to take i took it on Friday and i dont know if it was the mixture of meds but my blood pressure dropped as well as my heart rate dropped,usually when i was on ativan heart ratewas in 90s it is in the 60s now,Im so afraid i havent taking another effexor,,,,i take the xanax because my anxiety is bad but i feel so emotionless has anyone taking the combination and how di

I am not saying it was all him that made me this way but its mostly why. I was so stressed out I thought I had a brain tumor and underwent so many tests. But, what do you know I do not have a brain tumor. I know it is all in my head and I try to think positive but for some reason I can't.
Hm, I dunno. I am going to make an appointment with an endo, because I am coming off the effexor and feeling agitated. But I don't know if that is because I am stopping effexor or becoming hyperthyroid?
wants me to take Effexor 37.5mg twice daily to help with the hot flashes and mood swings. My concern is that I was previously on Zoloft 50mg. and it gave me real bad headaches raised my blood pressure and sent me on a emergent run to the hsp. emergency room,,I am concerned about starting this medicience that it will cause the same problems or worse. My O.B. says they are different and that I should try the effexor. What does everyone else think?
My son just started Effexor and only a small dose of 37.5 mg for anxiety and worry and hx of headaches. He is 18 and has ADHD too. He has had severe insomnia since starting this and is supposed to go up to double the dose after 7 days. Is this normal during the inital phase? what is the best anti anxiety med for an 18 you male?
I have been on zoloft for many many many years. along with other meds. Due to Medicaide deciding i no longer qualify I have ran out. This is NOT the time. my son who passed away birthday is next week (18th)., divorce, 15 year old son, ect. I am having these "Zaps" if i remember correctly ive had them even on the zoloft (not sure) but what is going ON???? since i can not afford my meds i started taking the st johns wart to see if it would help with depression.
I'd check w/ your doc and OB. I was on Lexapro and went off but I was also on a smaller dose (5 mg). I've read many different opinions but mostly I've read that during the first trimester it is best to be off. My OB reinforced that if I had any depression whatsoever that there are many safe meds to take. For me, I've been fine going off and have felt fine and am actually glad I'm off!

Hi there, I was on this drug for about 2 days because it didn't suit me but I have had this side effect from other SSRI's and other Mental health drugs..it is very annoying and time consuming LOL..it should get better in a few weeks. I used to find night time the worst. It was as though I had to really get my brain to concentrate on urinating..sometimes turning a tap on so it makes the tinkly noise helped!
Hi, I have been on Effexor XR for 3 years and I have gained about 40-50pounds, most when my dose was increased to 225, now I am on 75mg b/c I'm getting ready to wean off the medicine in a couple of weeks,and I haven't lost anything yet. My eating habits have not changed and I exercise. I have always been underweight and I could eat whatever I wanted...I'm only 26 years old...I know my metabolism has changed some, but not enough to pack on 40 pounds.
