Avatar f tn I am currently on the hcg injections from the Native Healing Ways clinic. Does anyone have any recipes for this 500 calorie diet? The information that the clinic has provided does list a few recipes but I would like to expand a bit as I am becoming board with current food choices. Also, I am mostly a vegetarian but eat some fish. Thanks!
1666434 tn?1325265950 I thought it might be helpful if we made a thread that shared some of your favorite diabetic safe recipes. This can just be something you make yourself all the time or a recipe you converted to be safe.
1123420 tn?1350564758 //www.foodnetwork.com /recipes/cooking-live /chocolate-peanut-butter -no-bake-cookies-recipe /index.html I found this on food networks website. It seems fairly easy and they had a bunch of other treats you can make with peanut butter that don't require baking.
172023 tn?1334675884 I did that when I had a diabetic baby, I bought him cookies that human diabetics can have. At that time there was basically nothing for dogs w/ diabetes. I also bought a human diabetic cook book and made foods/treats for him with that. So maybe there are cook books w/ recipes for people who have urinary stones too?
1809109 tn?1331807377 Ducky, it's not so much the recipe in my opinion, it seems to be the type of flour you use - or at least that's what I've run into. I've tried a variety of recipes and varied the flour because of the taste that results. I've begun to rely on a flour from a company called Authentic Foods. It seems I can use it for almost anything I bake - cookies, cakes, etc (but haven't tried bread) - with great success. I've specifically stuck with their Pancake and baking mix.
269786 tn?1243797307 200mcg 2-3 times a day is recommended. If you happen to be a non-insulin dependent diabetic zinc might also help, but if you're on insulin the zinc is already in insulin. Type 2 diabetics tend to be low in zinc and can have sugar craving due to this, however, I am not positive how that might affect the non diabetic population yet.
Avatar m tn Following the food guide for type 2 diabetics is also a good place to start to learn your food groups, and it provides links to easy to make recipes and ideas for finger foods that will keep you satisfied. I was well on my way to the bottom of a six foot deep whole in the ground until a dietician taught me how to eat properly. I one year, I lost over 80 lbs, and I did it by eating MORE food than I ate when I put on those lbs.
Avatar f tn Absolutely no tomatoes, corn, peas, or raw veggies. Same for fruit - canned or well cooked and peeled. I am also diabetic, so things like pasta, breads, rice and other "white" foods are out for me, but would probably be okay for you. I can almost always eat soups. When you make it just peel everything, cook everything well, and puree it when it's done. It seems to help fill me up and provides a good amount of nutrients.
649848 tn?1534637300 I'm not totally sold on it for thyroid, but being gluten-free also means I'm not eating the things made from refined flour I'd normally be eating, such as bread, pasta, the muffins, cakes, cookies and other things. This does seem to help with my digestion and some other issues, if not necessarily with weight loss. Of course, cutting the sugar helps with all of it... This week, with the muffins and some other things I ate, I totally fell out sync with my entire plan.
1550026 tn?1299339682 Hi Jennifer, I have Hashimoto's but have also gotten into Insulin Resisitance and Metabolic syndrome. I am an RN so I tried the traditional medical path first. After 3 Endocrinologists, I finally found a "functional medicine" doc. She is an M.D. but medical and surgical solutions are not her first choice for treatment. I did the micronutrient testing and discovered extremely low Bioitin levels which accounted for massive hair loss.
335728 tn?1331418012 I checked my heart rate while this was going on (although it wasn't easy) and it was 84bpm which is fairly normal for me. Now when I asked my lying gp about it she automatically knocked it up to the dreaded "menopause" but I wasn't flushed or hot during the last attacks and although I explained this to her she said that the holter monitor will tell us what is going on. HUH...not if it's hypoglycemia you silly doctor!

Avatar f tn My doctor need numerous tests to see if there was an underlining problem he wasn't aware of, but there wasn't. 6 years later I have lost 81 lbs. - it hasn't been easy. I stick with a light breakfast, normally a salad with fish @ lunch, and normally a small salad & fruit for dinner (DRINKS LOTS OF WATER). I also changed my cooking habits. I only use kosher/sea salt, Mrs.Dash, and lots of fresh herbs to marinate meats & vegetables with, use Xtra-Olive Oil (not cooking oils).
256349 tn?1189759437 Tons of drinks, prime rib, veggies, fruit, cake, cookies and I had hot tea and water. About 7 PM I was getting weary and ate the other 1/2 my apple that I stuffed in my purse. We ended up for a little while at the owners house where the drinks were flowing... luck for me Dan knew I was about to pass out and got me home and grilled me some chicken. Stayed up way too late to try and digest before sleeping. All is well this AM with a loss!!

Avatar n tn I buy fat free mayo, sugar free syrup, Ken's lite dressing (and truly measure out my serving). That is VERY key! It is very easy to go over your amounts if you don't measure everything. I am anal about this. I got familiar with best foods to have that will allow me more. You just have to do your research. I use calorieking.com or nutritiondata.com and plan my day. If I want a certain food for dinner, I plan ahead how much I can have throughout the day and what serving size I can have at dinner.
Avatar f tn I have the EXACT problem, doctors think it is easy to get rid of but it is very hard. I have fasted as well as took a vitamin and garlic in a supplement pill form and have taken Mebendazole and nothing helps. I have been to the doctor multiple times and the first 2 they only gave me a days worth and the last time they gave me a months worth and it STILL did not help.
Avatar n tn I am very prone to bacterial and fungal infections, and it has to to with my body chemistry/ph(prediabetic/hypoglycemic). My mother who is Type 2 Diabetic, experinced these tears along with yeast infections and athletes foot infections all through her 30's and 40's until her diabetes was diagnosed and she got her levels under control.
