Avatar f tn I am currently on the hcg injections from the Native Healing Ways clinic. Does anyone have any recipes for this 500 calorie diet? The information that the clinic has provided does list a few recipes but I would like to expand a bit as I am becoming board with current food choices. Also, I am mostly a vegetarian but eat some fish. Thanks!

Evillady I went the easy way. I just removed from my diet, anything "white". Rice, potatoes, pasta, products made with flour. I also took out peas, and many beans as well. I replaced them with cheese, olives, nuts, meats, and lots of eggs. At one time, I was consuming nearly 18 eggs per week. I've dialed that back to half that now. Eating "Paleo" works for me.

Type 2 diabetics tend to be low in zinc and can have sugar craving due to this, however, I am not positive how that might affect the non diabetic population yet.

After 3 Endocrinologists, I finally found a "functional medicine" doc. She is an M.D. but medical and surgical solutions are not her first choice for treatment. I did the micronutrient testing and discovered extremely low Bioitin levels which accounted for massive hair loss.
Avatar n tn There are so many diet plans on the market and really none of them will work better then a diabetic diet set up by a diabetic nutritionist, most professional athletes follow a made to plan diabetic diet. Exercising is the key ( something that I don’t do but need to). There are so many complications with diabetes over the long term and I am sure most of you with diabetes know the complications.

Avatar f tn it's usually stir-fried, the stalks cooked separately from the leaves - but I think the stalks are also good raw, slathered in dip and the leaves raw in salad. asian noodles or rice and sauted greens of your choice with garlic and mushrooms (and whatever else you want to add: carrots, zucchini, meat --) go well together - top it with ginger sesame or teriyaki dressing and it's delicious.
Avatar n tn You don't have to cut out these foods just reduce them significantly. An iceberg lettuce salad with a restaurant meal once every couple a weeks isn't doing to make that much difference. (iceburg lettuce has the lowest potassium, spinach the highest) I eat a lot of baked chicken breast with things like apricot jam on top, one really tasty one is a can of cranberries and some lime juice, or sprinkled with Mrs.

I have a neighbor who is 78 years old, he is diabetic, has had blood pressure, arthritis and problems with reflux from time to time. He has had the usual tests for gallbladder problems and the ultra sound showed thickening of the walls, and his HIDA scan was 34%.

Avatar n tn one of the diets i am on is really freat and the food is fantastic is the biggest looser cookbook its like 15 dollars at barnes and noble the recipes are great and affordable i am married and we live on a 100 dollar a month food buget and we seem to feat at every meal. If you are like me i always had cravings for doughnuts and icecream and energy drinks and soda i also have a portion control problem.

Could never get ahold of the doctor to asks if this was normal.. no call back. After 1 year I did gain some of the weight back but am at it again knowing I will drop more and keep all my weight off this time.

Have a look at the WeightWatchers web site. You will find some healthy recipes on line. You are not drinking enough water and there have been no fresh vegetables and fruit eaten over the last 2 days. It is no wonder that you are having a digestive problem and getting blocked up.

She has balanced my hormones on a bio identical basis. I can not express how great I am feeling... thrilled in Seattle.
Avatar n tn I buy fat free mayo, sugar free syrup, Ken's lite dressing (and truly measure out my serving). That is VERY key! It is very easy to go over your amounts if you don't measure everything. I am anal about this. I got familiar with best foods to have that will allow me more. You just have to do your research. I use calorieking.com or nutritiondata.com and plan my day. If I want a certain food for dinner, I plan ahead how much I can have throughout the day and what serving size I can have at dinner.
