I knew that any of the Tetracycline antibiotics, and especially Doxycycline, could have gastro side effects, and I stuck with the pills, after contacting my GP who prescribed them. I finished the course, and after three weeks, my digestive system still hadn't normalized.
My GP then put me on a 10 day course of Nexium (a proton pump inhibitor) in case I had an ulcer. I took one 40mg tablet per day, as instructed, but this didn't seem to make any difference.
I felt bloated during my IVF, but not nauseous. Did you check if these are listed as side effects on any of the meds? Either way, if you're worried about it, just call your RE's office. They'll let you know what's normal and what's not.
By the way, if you continue to get more bloated as you take more of the follistim, make sure your doctor check you for hyperstimulation. He or she might cut down on your dose to avoid this.

My wife in the 2nd week of her 6th chemo session of carboplatin, paclitaxel and avastin. Most of the side effects are predictable and have been increasing in severity over the sessions. For the last few days she has been subject to very painful occasions of bloating and severe intestinal gas pain. Don't find these in any of the listings of side effects other than "abdominal pain".
Anyone know if this is a common side effect and what can be done about it.

Hi I had a colonscopy 10/09/09, and I'm still having side effects. At first I couldn't stop going liquid then it cleared up for a couple of days now it's back.They found 4 polyps again beign but the kind that can turn into cancer so I have to have another next year. My question is, would the increase in acid reflux and stomach pain be a likely side effect of the doxycycline.
