A week ago my doctor gave me doxycycline hydrate to fight off an infection that is causing me to have a itchy urethra. My doctor did not do a swap test or anything but thought i had a bacterial infection. Present day ( a week of the medication) I still feel the itchiness and am thinking that I have a yeast infection. I've heard eating yogurt can help fight it, but what about dairy free yogurt? Would eating one container of dairy free yogurt help?
I saw my urologist today and he told me he thought it was a yeast infection (from the antibiotics) and prescribed me some anti-fungal / steroid cream. I've made an appt. to see a dermatologist on monday just to be sure. Essentially, I'm just wondering whether the symptoms sound like a yeast infection, or what the possibility is that it could be something else (like herpes? Could that manifest 6 1/2 months later? Would there be pain if it was herpes and not a yeast infection?).
Raging yeast infection! Well i took the doxycycline for 5 days before my ex fiance wanted to come back. We were together sexually on the 19th. No oral. (The gonorrhea and chlamydia test came back negative....vaginally) im scared to death it could still be in my throat. I gave him oral on the 20th. I have some symptoms but that also is the same symptoms of ovulation and yeast infection....HELP!?!?!?!?
I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. It works a little but he said it might take a week and its been six days. I have a couple of questions.

t mention in the herpes forum. You might have an oral yeast infection triggered by the doxycycline. Stop taking it immediately and see the doc who prescribed it.
I read up that both partners should be treated so I got her to get treated as well and we both were put on Doxycycline Hyclate me for 10 days her for 7 100mg. After the amox clav I got this shiny spot on my penis head that would turn into a slight bump when I was erect. I then got two more spots which I think are friction burn because during the antibiotics we grinded really hard since we couldn’t have sex.
My penus feels irtiated on my head of my penis and inside or something that is why I was leading to it possibly being that yeast infection. If it was that how long would it take to clear up, this long ?? I am going to go get checked tomorrow for STD's as a precautionary but was just wondering if there is something else it may be like the yeast infection or an inside infection.

What can I do for relief? Could it be a yeast infection? I believe a rash would indicate that and I do not have a rash anyway.
Just to add: I am 24 years old. I experience no pain when urinating and have not had any discharge. I did have a feeling of a discharge coming for a few days after that day I masturbated 3 weeks ago but it never occurred and I don't have that feeling anymore. I am in good health and have no other complaints to go along with the itchiness.
( I was kinda hoping it was just a yeast infection after all the antibiotics I've taken, but it doesn't usually cause green discharge? I am at my wits end I just want it to go away!
I consulted a Dermatologist He gave me FLUCONAZOLE 400mg once in a week as 8 week course and doxycycline and lactic acid bacillus cap once for a day before food and cream to apply on that red rash and red spots~!
Now am still having those medicines... 4 weeks passed and that reddish rash is disappeared but i still experience that burning sensation occasionally there is no constant burning sensation when i apply that cream there is little more burning sensation!!
I was treated with ceftriaxone and Doxycycline but my wife was only treated with 100mg of Doxycycline twice a day for 7 days. She was not diagnosed. Is it possible that Doxycycline will cure Gonorrhea on its own. She felt some burning in her urethra but only after treatment. Her Dr. thought it may be just a yeast infection from strong antibiotics. What are the chances her complete uranylisis will show that she is negative for Gonorrhea?

I noticed painless and non-ithcy red spots on penis head, after 2 weeks of doxycycline that recovers me from Gonorrhea. Should I be worried? They are not raised and are quite scattered around in small numbers.

We stopped the DH this morning and I am now on Fluconazole (for the yeast infection) and hydrocodone (for the pain). He said I should notice a change within 4-5 days. I have a 9 day supply. He said if it does not look better by Friday to come in. Change underwear twice a day. Ensure that I am thoroughly dry after I shower. He said that if I can stand it to use the monistat as well. We will see what happens.

t necessarily a bacterial infection, but rather something else... could be a yeast infection... though it could just as well be a bacterial infection which showed itself due to Doxy, but might require a different treatment.
In the end, I suggest you finish your treatment and see if there is any improvement and wait until you get your STD test results (which tests did you do... namely for what?).
There are some black and reddish rashes and burning sensation for 1 month! Doctor said its just a yeast infection and gave me 30 days medication! and 8 weeks Fluconazole 400 mg per week and an anti bacterial cream to apply on the penis head twice a day!! but i still feel that burning sensation occasionally and when i apply that cream that burning sensation is little bit higher!!

It is not a yeast infection. And the doxycycline is not going to do anything for you at taking it that way. We do not advise on self-medicating. You should wait for planned parenthood or get to a doctor. Treating what you have with the wrong antibiotics can cause it to be resistant and then you may have a more difficult time curing it.
also bcs HSV1 IGM negative, it old infection and no active HSV infection is going on. dr say results conlosive after week 6 .
wk 8 after sex .thick penile discharge (yellowish). urine analysis shows normal results. swab culture shows “moderate gram positive Cocci with few plymer cells”. lab report not show type of gram cocci.
now 10 wk. still same “ wet feeling on the top of the shaft” . no bld or burning s. urinate more.
Well, I had sex with my wife a few days later and about 5 days later, she developed a horrible yeast infection. She got a little better, then we had sex 2 nights ago and now its returned.
She has been on Doxyclycline 100mg for 11 days, and she still feels very uncomfortable. itching mostly.
She called the doctor and he told her to come in.
I am freaking out that I gave her something. Is it possible? I still dont have symptoms and she has been on Doxyclycline for 11 days. !!!
On Sunday I went to the doc and I was negative for chlaymedia and gonhorea and they told me they think it is an yeast infection..
