Hundreds of people have blogged and complained about how the acne drug; Doryx, is linked to losing huge amounts of hair on the scalp. I'm experiencing the same problem. had very thick coarse and pretty hair. Now it's becoming thin stringy and nappy. I am freaking out big time and really sad. I'm 22 years old and my dermatologist has had me on this drug for a couple years and at first this did not happen, now it comes out in clumps and I shed everywhere.

my dermatologist put me on desonex that didnt work so then he prescribed me keflex 500mg 3x daily and considering i had come off a couple of nasty infections by which i was already taking antibiotics (z-pack for sinus infection and doryx for some MRSA) by GP wanted me to lay off the antibiotics for a while. So as such do i take the keflex for my ingrown/foculitis whatever it is? Ive seen "ethnic" depilatory creams for african american men in cvs can i try that (im white)?

I was diagnosed with the same thing and mine wasn't all that noticeable. I had about 6-8 little dots/zits around my mouth and lips. Most people said it looked like I just had a couple zits, but I knew it was something more since I don't get zits like this, especially on my lips. My dermatologist had me put an oitment in my nostrils twice a day for 7 days (which sucked) and I'm on Doryx or doxycycline at 150mg for 30 days. I'm two weeks in and it's almost undetectable.

A few years ago I had a horrible case of acne and was put on the Doryx pill for 3 weeks, wash with Brevoxyl 2x day, morning Tazorac topical and evening Duac topical. This combination cleared up all of my acne and dark spots in a month !!! So after two months I weened myself off of the topicals. Everything was fine. About 2 years later, I had another bad breakout. I have really oily skin, lots of white and blackheads and acne scarring (dark spots) resulted from these pimples.

On to my question..so is MRSA curable? If the bacteria shows sensitivity to an antibiotic is the antibiotic more likely to kill the germ? I've been prescribed Keflex, Bactrim, and now Doryx. Still won't go away. I don't go out anymore because of this condition. I don't know what I would do if I met a really cool girl. Oh wait, I'd probably just walk right past her and look the other way, even if she tried to talk to me. This condition is so embarrassing. I've taken about 16/30 of the Doryx medication (Qty. is 30) The marks don't seem to be going away.

I also had MRSA and have just found out that I am a MRSA carrier although, I am not infected at the moment.I also have RA and take 7.5 mg of Mexotraxate one time per week. My new orthopedic surgeon called my RA doctor and said hey, need to back off the Mexotraxaate and ALL steriod shots until the foot has healed. My RA doctor concurred. Now, the Orthopedic surgeon was okay with me taking the Medrol which is "Tablets contain methylprednisolone which is a glucocorticoid.

does that mean he will have re occurring mrsa forever or is it just that he has some of the bodies that are found in mrsa on him? Any advice please? Also surely if he has mrsa here is a high chance like myself and partner now also have it?

Sparky, behavior issues aside, I am struggling with the thought he has MRSA and is not being treated. I have an acquaintance who had a 4 year old girl with MRSA, and the girl was hospitalized and her home quarantined until it could be disinfected. I don't mean to ignore your concerns about his behavior, but I'm just overwhelmed that it doesn't seem he's being treated for MRSA - has he been treated yet and supposedly cleared? Best wishes.

I was recently diagnost with herpes type 2 and i was wondering even with a test done can it be mistaking for MRSA? i did have a case of MRSA in my arm pits as well as a few of my family members with whom i live with, i did not take any anti biotics because it kinda went away on its own. i later found out that its pretty hard to get rid of MRSA. But at the same time i dont experience any itching or burning in the genitalia area and i am aware that it can stay dormant.

MRSA can be spread by alot of means, but it really depends on where the MRSA is colinized in the person. There are a few ways to get this, and if it is in the nose, mouth, or something like that sure via phone would be a way to get it. The best pertection from this is washing your hands. If you notice you have touched something they have had wash your hands. Also hand santizers are good. You could also ask the person that has the MRSA if they were decolinzed.

doctors are trying to diagnose and treat the symptoms of lupus, with a positive ANA test, swelling that only response to high doses of steriods and those cause horrible side effects. I hurt all over all the time, sometimes so bad I can only get relief when I'm asleep. have fine tremors and memory issues, my entire body is swollen, I'm taking so many medications to lower this overactive immune system that now the doctors warn me about being around sick people.
