doryx and sun exposure

I am 32 years old and have been prescribed Doryx and a topical acne medication for slight facial and back acne. I have been taking the medication 5-6 weeks and for the past week or so I am noticying hair loss. (roughly double the normal amount of hair I would loose in a day.) My hair is noticably thinning. Could this be a side effect of the medication I am taking? Has anyone else experienced this? On a side note, my skin is now completely clear.

About two week later I started getting a discomfort feeling in the end of my penis and urinating more frequemtly. What are my chances of catching something? I performed oral sex on my wife about a week after but there has been no other sexual contact with her. I decided to self medicate with 150 mg Doryx twice a day that I had at the house. Been taking for about six days now. The discomfort just started to go away today on the sixth day. Here are my questions: 1.

My scalp has also been very dry and itchy with dandruff. I never had any of these problems before Doryx and so of course I stopped about a week ago. My hair is at least half of what it was last year. Please help someone if you know anything? How devastating as a woman to have to go through this. If losing hair was listed as a side effect (like it should be), I would not have taken this. I was on tx. during the katrina nightmare, heat and sun exposure gave me the worst rash and caused a tremendous amount of itching. Stay out of the sun and heat while on tx.

I am very active outdoors and would hate to have to stay out of the sun. I use sun screens and still I get this condition.

actually sun is very beneficial to both you and baby, you need around 20 min of exposure to the sun everyday on your arms and legs, a little more if your dark skinned, your body gets its vitamin D from being exposed to the sun, otherwise you risk having vit D deficiency which isnt good, and you end up by having to take suppliments, just be sure that you dont go out in the hottest part of the day and if you do put on sunscreen :)

It is possible that you have/had sun poisioning. Any antibiotics will add to the harsh exposure of the sun. That is why they tell you to try to avoid the sun if you can or use a high level of sunscreen if you are out in the sun. If you are not feeling better soon, you should see your doctor. Please be careful while in the sun while on these medications. It can cause some major symptoms not to mention the higher risk of sun burn. Hope you feel better soon.

I started taking Doryx 250 mg as prescribed by me derm around oct 16...the first week was fine but then I noticed the 2nd week I was losing double the amount of hair in the shower. These weren't even new hairs, but complete long strands were falling off and i've never experience that before. I nearly had a heart attack! I've currently been off the medication for almost a month now and the im still losing more hair than I used to.

I have very fair skin and fair hair, whenever I'm out in the sun for a long period of time I seem to get sun poisoning even when I use sun block. Should I be concerned?

We are heading to Florida in two days and will be out in the sun alot. I wear sunscreen but am just curious if sun exposure will affect my scar. It seems like I read somewhere on there that it would by making it darker or taking it longer to heal? Please let me know what you guys know about this. Last year I believe I developed a sun allergy, after prolonged exposure to the sun I would get itchy red bumps in the evening and the next day they would be gone. As of this year I have been in the sun and have experience nothing. I was wonder if I spent some time in a tanning bed would I break out in the red bumps like the sun exposure? I just did not think that it was caused by the sun because some of the small moles are on parts of my chest that do not get much sun, but I guess some of the suns rays still penetrate clothing and these area are in most direct exposure to the rays of the sun.
