Hundreds of people have blogged and complained about how the acne drug; Doryx, is linked to losing huge amounts of hair on the scalp. I'm experiencing the same problem. had very thick coarse and pretty hair. Now it's becoming thin stringy and nappy. I am freaking out big time and really sad. I'm 22 years old and my dermatologist has had me on this drug for a couple years and at first this did not happen, now it comes out in clumps and I shed everywhere.

I am 32 years old and have been prescribed Doryx and a topical acne medication for slight facial and back acne. I have been taking the medication 5-6 weeks and for the past week or so I am noticying hair loss. (roughly double the normal amount of hair I would loose in a day.) My hair is noticably thinning. Could this be a side effect of the medication I am taking? Has anyone else experienced this? On a side note, my skin is now completely clear.

I started taking Doryx 250 mg as prescribed by me derm around oct 16...the first week was fine but then I noticed the 2nd week I was losing double the amount of hair in the shower. These weren't even new hairs, but complete long strands were falling off and i've never experience that before. I nearly had a heart attack! I've currently been off the medication for almost a month now and the im still losing more hair than I used to.

I would recommend seeing your Dr or going to a clinic. You can get warts from sex. I'm not saying that's what is going on. Only a Dr can say for sure. I would also recommend using a condom with every single sex act to help protect yourself and your partner.

The doctor deemed it as a possible UTI and I was on a regimen of Doryx 150mg qd X 14d. I abstained from any sex for the duration of treatment. The burning had long subsided and I engaged in intercourse with my partner, who 2 days later found out she tested positive for chlamydia. I had been off of the Doryx for about a week when I found this out and went straight back to the doctor to receive treatment for chlamydia infection. I was treated this time with doxycycline 100mg bid X 7d.

A few years ago I had a horrible case of acne and was put on the Doryx pill for 3 weeks, wash with Brevoxyl 2x day, morning Tazorac topical and evening Duac topical. This combination cleared up all of my acne and dark spots in a month !!! So after two months I weened myself off of the topicals. Everything was fine. About 2 years later, I had another bad breakout. I have really oily skin, lots of white and blackheads and acne scarring (dark spots) resulted from these pimples.

I've been prescribed Keflex, Bactrim, and now Doryx. Still won't go away. I don't go out anymore because of this condition. I don't know what I would do if I met a really cool girl. Oh wait, I'd probably just walk right past her and look the other way, even if she tried to talk to me. This condition is so embarrassing. I've taken about 16/30 of the Doryx medication (Qty. is 30) The marks don't seem to be going away.

Hello, I planned on getting STD tested in a few weeks but just completed a ZPACK (azithromycin) for a sinus infection and my dermatologist has put me on 100 mg doryx (doxycycline) for acne. Other then the HIV test should I go ahead and get tested for gono, syph, chla? The reason I ask is that from what I am reading on this forum, often times those antibiotics would clear up those infections. Thank you. This has been a very helpful and informative forum.

They said there is only one baby which I assumed and it's heart beat was 150. And they said the other sac looks looks the same as it did last time and it will eventually be absorbed. I don't no whether to be happy or sad. It kinda confusing. I feel bad for saying it bit I'm grateful for one cause I don't no if I would be strong enough to take care of two newborns and then also have a 1 year old But I am definitely grateful for this new baby.

I'm not sure why, but lately my penis has been having a fishy odor. I am not sexually active, I'm 19 years old, and I clean it regularly. I shower every day and make sure it is well-washed with soap and water, but it still smells that way after cleaning. There is no rash or irritation at all. It is not semen or pre-ejaculatory fluid related. It always smells this way for the past week now.

Doryx is easier on the stomach than generic doxy. Its release is slower too. VERY EXPENSIVE!

Its a myth I have bothe girl and boys and all of there heart were around the same they were all around 150 to 160 and my baby now is the same around 150 to 160

AST (SGOT) 150, ALT (SGPT) 88 and ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE 132, WBC 3.0, RBC 3.43 Hemoglobin 10.6, HCT 31.3, RDW-CV 18.9 Neutrophils 49.1, ABSOLUTE NEUTROLPHIL COUNT 1.5 and my SEDRATE 42 (the sedrate I understand) The rest I just don't know the reason. Especially the enzymes. Can you make any suggestions?

Just wanted to check in! 150 days today! Wow I never thought I would make it this far and to be honest without all of you here I would not of! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support!! Its so nice to know that there is some where to go and vent or post and get so much support! I love you all! There are a few on here that have touched me more than I can say!

i am 41 in 2wks i think my breathing is really bad due to my asthma,my doctor says my chest is clear a nurse at the hospital done my peak flow and said it was bad as it was only 150 what should i do ?
