1684282 tn?1582660848 I thought that it some numbers in it were both troubling and fascinating to want to share it with all of you. In a nut shell it says what I have been saying all along - doctors write too many opiate prescriptions for far many chronic pain patients. Nearly 15,000 people die from opiate prescription overdoses than both heroin and cocaine combined. Opiate prescription has increased 6 fold from 1997 to 2007 and has been accelerating since.
14756255 tn?1443812631 Could you provide a little more details for me also on the deficiencies you think I might have, what do I do about those? Are any of these life threatening?
16613731 tn?1449679804 As I mentioned before that I am an insomniac, but I feel exhausted when I have the right amount of sleep too. I do not know what to do. My mother has also complained about how much hair I am beginning to lose. I have taken notice of it as well, but it did not concern me until a small clump of hair slid down my back while I was showering. Reversing backwards.
Avatar n tn My son is autistic and I have a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I have been seeing a nutricianist for myself and she has recommended eating frequently, every 2 hours, and that I should remove all refined carbs (sugar, wheat etc), caffeine, alcohol, stimulants, sweetners from my diet. If the body is not able to control blood sugar there can be a number of hormones eg. adrenalene and noradrenelene which can be overproducted causing erratic blood sugar levels.

Avatar m tn they said it was complete rubbish!) I'm in eastern Ontario. Dr said I have fibromyalgia, (which I know I don't have~I was a qualified nurse some years ago so I do have some insight & medical understanding) she prescribed me sleeping tablets which actually turned out to be anti depressants!

16615961 tn?1454423687 Sad but I actually have never even been to an endo. Rhuemy diagnosed and between him and my GP they have been trying to keep up. I stated in 50mcg of levothyroxine 2 yrs ago. 6 months later they bumped me up to 75mcg and within a month I was in the hospital and they brought me back down to 50 again. I do blood work every 3-6 months and there's a slight increase in my numbers each time but I have stayed within the "normal" range. Yes I do have fibro as well.
1464004 tn?1384139333 Being in health care for more than three decades, most of them in neurology,I was one of those who didn't believe in fibromyalgia. I do now. I also have a long list of associated problems including IBS, rheumatoid arthritis, sleep disorders and on and on. I wanted some feedback on how to handle the weather change, it's really kicking my butt. Constant pain, fatigue the whole ball of wax. I'm limited in the types of meds I can take because of the laundry list of stuff I'm on now.
Avatar f tn The sensation is at times very painful, like pins and needles. I had occasionally felt that before but never like now. Have any of you had or have this symptom with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia? My rheumatologist is trying to see if he can figure out any other cause for the painful tingling through blood work but said if all the labs were normal ...he would send me to see a neurologist. MS was brought up but he said that usually with MS the tingling is on one side of your body not both.
Avatar f tn my name is lucy n I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago...
544292 tn?1268886268 I never would have swallowed a single pill. I feel I was tricked. I feel others have been as well. I know for a FACT Tramadol will make you sick. Because I was and am a healthy young freakishly strong woman and withdrawing from this faux-opiate with a side dish of really old anti-depressant in it .... has been like pulling up a chair by the fire next to Satan himself. And I'm not even exaggerating. If anything; I'm minimizing!
Avatar f tn A decision 25 years ago to alert the public to the M.E.pandemic as they have done with the recent H1N1 flu outbreak would have been the responsible action of the CDC in this regard, and recognition of the pathological biomarkers discovered in the 1980s should have validated theserious nature of the disease as technological advances did for M.S. in the1950s.
429700 tn?1308011423 I hope that they are able to hire two more really, really good neurologists and I can get in . . . I don't want this long report to be for nothing! I have some high hopes for this place! Thank you so much for your suggestions . . .
216278 tn?1308864682 I didn't even know it existed until I started trying to find out what was wrong with me. I am 57 years old. I have spend many months in lots of pain and still trying to get my doctor to listen to me. This site has been a real life safer. I can see what's happeing to others, how they feel, vent and get information. It's wonderful.
428506 tn?1296560999 Why would the patient prefer to sit at home loosing her wages (mine was 25,000 per annum) to get some benefits of the government. Because I am a sponger, hardly as I have worked on and off since I was 16 (now 58).
Avatar f tn I'm sorry about your problems and I DO NOT think it's in your head. I think it is very real. I have lost all faith in out medical system. I would rather hear "I don't know what is wrong with you" instead of them making it psychological in nature in order to not hurt their ego's. By the way, lyme disease can cause these symptoms. Have you been tested?
Avatar m tn I am 22 years old, have had back and whole body problems ever since a neck injury two years ago. I have done everything to heal and I have made great strides. But in the end I hope that time will be the final piece to the puzzle. All over the internet there is much more to scare you then encourage you. I need a morale boost, can people post there injuries, progress, and what they have done to recover; of course you may post whatever you feel is appropriate.
544292 tn?1268886268 Day 22 Cold Turkey Tramadol ... I woke up HAPPY. I used to wake up happy all the time, before the Tramadol. Waking up happy is good. Then I tried to move. I had to use my hands and arms to get up out of bed. My body has been pushed as far as it will go. So after trying all my best tricks (aminos, coffee, food, vitamins, water) I finally stopped the struggle and called in sick for work. Tomorrow will be a busier day anyhow.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with elevated anti-thyroglobulin antibodies 2 months ago and subsequently told I have a multi-nodular goiter and auto-immune thyroiditis (unsure if Hashimoto's or not). I started 50 mcg of Synthroid 5 weeks ago and don't feel one bit better. Anyhow, I have been having sore muscles all over my body, even my scalp, for a few months now. It seems to be getting progressively worse and is definitely aggravated by stress and also by exerting myself in even small ways.

Avatar f tn I'm with you on this Red Star, I have the book too and honestly I haven't read it in its entirety, but I have to agree with you about the cholesterol and saturated fat myth, which still plays like an 30+ year old broken record.
Avatar f tn I've never questioned my MS diagnosis until recently when I started thinking about my past and how it all started when filling out a questionnaire for a new neurologist. About 15 years ago I developed a very odd rash. I do not remember having a tick bite, but the rash was very odd. It was an itchy rash, and yes, some of it looked like it had a bulls-eyes center. It migrated all over my body all day long.
Avatar f tn Turns out that I do have several very advanced AI diseases. Not saying that you have AI but your rheumy will help sort it out. Keep in mind that these issues can be very hard to pin down sometimes.
Avatar f tn A rheumatologist suggested I have fibromyalgia (only bc I think she cant find any other diagnosis) however I do have similar symptoms to fibro patients. The first symptoms that I noticed was loss of hair and sensitivity to medications...this was six years ago. 5 years ago I seen an endo who said lab work looks fine. I sat back for 5 years thinking maybe the doctors are right it just due to having babies. I have twin girls that are 8 and my son is 6.
Avatar f tn Yes they do, and I have no idea....all I know is b4 I went they had me do more herniation was only 4mm and 6mm so not much larger then ur own....I had my CINE b4 I sent my info to them...not sure if that made a difference or not..... Avatar f tn Reading through the Fibromyalgia symptoms, I am wondering if my bone pain might be associated with fibro? I have been having bone pain for the past 18 months in both my legs and arms. I am a 37 yr old female. The femur bones in both legs pain the worst - it started off subtly (after a severe urinary tract infection) and when seeing various GP's they did all the tests for potassium/calcium/ etc - these always came back clear.
Avatar f tn so a SPECT scan shows how well the blood is flowing. MRIs don't do that kind of work. Do you have Lyme? I don't know. But in your situation, I would find an LLMD for a work up. Finding an LLMD can be tricky, esp in a state like Texas, but I would try anyway. It sure beats being sick forever. There is apparently a Texas Lyme disease association at txlda [dot] org, but be a skeptic at all times.
Avatar m tn - Intense physical fatigue - Shortness of breath - Brain fog / Mental fog - Difficulty keeping an upright position (Always slouching) - Tingling in my legs and extremities - My heartbeat feels strong, I feel it almost as a shock every beat - Redness on my face (Always present, gets worse as I get more tired) - Constipation It's like my body is now under gravity times two, except when I lay down, it takes a lot of energy to keep an upright position and function, just sitting or standing up can
