diflucan with monistat

I'm actually using the 3 day monistat treatment right now lol. It's safe to use. If anything I think its safer than the one day pill antibiotic they prescribe for yeast infections called Diflucan.

The following day I had a pelvic exam with my gyno and she gave me another diflucan to take a few days later and some antibiotics to take after so I could clear up a possible bacterial infection. Month passes and I'm finally feeling back to normal I'm having sex with my boyfriend aand everything feels great...until I get my period again. My tampons are itchy around my vulva and irritate me. (they're unscented).

I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?

Monistat 7 is the safest thing to use during pregnancy. I used it in early pregnancy with my 3 girls and there were healthy. if it was me don't use that prescription, just the Monistat. My doctor that I had, now I'm having my 5th baby and they say Monistat is the safest to use and you can even use the cheapest brand, it's all the same.

Monistat will work fine. and also eat yogurt. not only does D******* with it work, but eating it regularly seems to regulate healthy bacteria in your body. it's always worked for me. By the way, if you D**** with it, make sure it's PLAIN UNFLAVORED yogurt!

I know that during pregnancy, you are allowed to use Monistat or over the counter treatments similiar to monistat (store brands) to treat yeast infections, but I was wondering if there were any oral medications you can take. I know that you cant take diflucan (fluconazole ~generic for diflucan) but I was wondering if there was anything else. My doctors office is not open yet so I will be calling them when they are available, but was wondering if any of you ladies knew anything about this.

I'd wait out and use what the Dr prescribed. How long did he/she say it would take? If you just started, you should feel some relief soon.... Good luck...

Sounds like a possible yeast infection. This could be treated with over the counter monistat cream and other products are available over the counter. You may want to visit your gynecologist for a check up and diflucan could be prescribed to cure this issue.

If you have insurance your dr can call you in a one time dose of diflucan or you can do the monistat as cassandra19 suggested

I developed a yeast inefection after 2 rounds of antibiotics for a major ear inefection. I've had a few yeast infections before so I picked up some Monistat 1. I wish I hadn't because I had the worst, most painful burning I've ever felt. In fact, my actual yeast inefection was less irritating and painful than the Monistat 1. After the irritation went away in a few days I realized I still had a yeast infection so I went in to see the dr.

In late June I was diagnosed with my first yeast infection. I took monistat and diflucan and the infection went away quickly. A couple weeks later I got a UTI. A few days after finishing the antibiotics I began to have the same symptoms as the yeast infection and took diflucan and monistat again. A couple weeks after that irritation I experienced similar symptoms again. I took monistat for a day and I was fine.

Doctor allowed me to use monistat 7 to treat a yeast infection.

I am almost on my last week of pregnancy and I may have a yeast infection, would taking monistat 7 now be unsafe since I'm so close to delivery? Or can my doctor prescribe me with some kind of medication?

The monistat may not be strong enough for you. You may have to go to a Gyn and get diflucan and kill the yeast infection. It stays in your system for seven days and you'll be sure to get rid of the yeast. Symptoms usually go away within the 24 hrs after taking the antibiotic pill. Its a 1 dose.

I have had the most severe reaction to Monistat 3 day.. I was able to use all 3 doses. However on the 4th day I started to itch and burn like theres no tommorrow. My yeast infection wasn't even that bad but now I feel like someone set my insides on fire. I even have a chemical like burn mark inside me. I will NEVER use this product again.. My doctor had told me to stop using it and perscribed Diflucan pill for me to take.. Its been almost 20 hours and I am already starting to feel better.

Monastat is what my dr told me, but I got the three day that came with soothing wipes as well, GET THE WIPES either way lol they really help with the irritation

Consider decreasing sugar in your diet to help get things under control. A treatment that may be soothing is to get unsweetened plain yogurt and putting it inside. You can read about this on line. I've never tried it but people do it and it sounds soothing. I get irritation from using most creams. I have the best luck just using regular Lotrimin cream. I don't react badly to that.

t gone away. Wednesday I put a monistat 1 capsule insert in with little to no relief. Thursday I make a trip to my doctor and she gives me a diflucan pill. It's now one day after taking the pill and I still have no relief.

When I have a yeast infection my doctor gives me Diflucan, it relieves the itch and all the nasty things to come with a yeast infection in like a hour and it is safe to take durring pregnancy.... It is only 1 pill so no messy creams. I would call your local 24 hour pharmacy... Walgreens and ask the pharmicist..

Should I buy some over the counter monistat and use that too???? It is such a stubborn infection with all these hormones....what the heck do I do at this point??? I am so frustrated. Please help me.

It seemed like everytime we have unprotected sex, she would get a yeast infection which would be cleared with monistat or diflucan. This happened often and again she cleared it with monistat. I have seen three doctors and two Urologist who say that I have tested for everything and that I can be sure its not an std. I have been fighting a yeast infection for over a month now. First I tried the 3 day monistat didnt work, the a diflucan didnt work,then Terazol didnt work, Then 4 diflucans in row nothing. The doctor has tested me for everything and all is neg. She prescribed more terzol and i am going to start my period so I have now taken 4 more diflucan but alls it does is help with the burning. I am tempted to try monistat again while on my period. I can not take this any more. What can i do?
