Throw out any hats or anything that the ringworm has come into contact with. We had ringworm (three of the children including the baby and my husband). My baby got it because I did not throw the hat in the garbage and several months later, I put the hat on my baby. She got ringworm on her scalp and had to take the oral medication. There was a chance of liver problems with the oral medication, but the cream just does not work on the scalp.

I went back to the doctor, he gave me diflucan, She also got diflucan. After three days on the diflucan, her symptoms were gone and mine were 90% gone. I then began to apply a diluted vinegar solution. The symptoms were gone for a few days, including the redness, but then they came back. Not as bad as before, but still there. At that point he screened for claymidia and gonnorea, and gave me the zpac. I continued diflucan and vinegar, with the sympmtoms almost, but not quite, vanishing again.

I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

Within that two week time period the are on my left shoulder has transformed into a large circular (kind of like a tear drop shaped) area. My doctor gave me some anifungal cream thinking it was ringworm but the cream is not helping it at all. I was also put on Diflucan unrelated to the rash so that alone should have (?) taken care of it. The border of the rash is raised and when inflamed (border) it itches like crazy.

Also no luck so I saw my doctor who prescribed oral Diflucan. At this point it had been 9 months and I had 10 lesions. She referred me to a dermatologist who took one look and said it's nummular eczema. I'm a little skeptical because when I look at pictures online it looks more like ringworm to me, but she said considering my age and the fact that it hasn't responded to treatment she's confident in her diagnosis.

My son has a problem with recurrent ringworm. Now it seems that his ringworm happens about the same time I have a yeast infection. Are they related?

Heck yes it can be ringworm. Ringworm can cause folliculitis and present like this, especially early stages of it, or certain strains. Try applying an OTC anti-fungal ointment on the boils (clotrimazole `% twice daily or terbinafine once daily). If it's ringworm, you will see marked improvement after 1-2 days. You should keep applying the cream for the full treatment period though to make sure all the spores are gone. Run all clothes and bedlinens through a HOT dryer.

When i put Lotrimin on it, it stops growing and does eventually dry up but even though i used it for a while even after the ringworm cleared, i found another ringworm 5 months later (today). I'm really frustrated. My sister told me to use Triamcinolone acetonide for this new ringworm and the ointment is anti bacterial and not anti fungal. I'm a little skeptical to use it (i have seen pictures of numular eczema though and what i have does look like it once it spreads a little more).

ok so i have started gettin spots that look like ringworm it started on my elbow it was a patch that looked like ringworm but it took a while to go away even tho i was using the cream but now like weeks later im gettin little ringworm spots all over i have one on my cheek one above the eye 1 on each forearm one on my thigh and a few on my back they look just like ringworm to me they are small area's not noticeable much the ones on my body arms are red the ones on my face are just skin color

Ringworm won't look like a pimple- so I don't think the pimple is really associated, it's like just a pimple that will heal up. If you haven't seen it clear up with the creams your doctor gave you, I'd recommend heading back to your doctor to have a second look- I'd lean more towards it's likely eczema if the cream you were given didn't clear it up.

So I am pregnant and just saw today that I have ringworm. Will this affect my pregnancy? And if I use an anti-fungal ointment to treat the ringworm will it affect anything? Its in its beginning stages so its not bad at all right now.
