Common Questions and Answers about Dosage of diflucan for ringworm

diflucan

Avatar n tn And was prescribed diflucan 200mg 1x a day for 1 week. She said it may take a while for it to fade. I am now at 3 months and went to see another dr. He prescribed diflucan 150 mg 1x a day and nystatin ointment 2x a day, but I feel like it is still spreading. Thankfully only on my arm but it's huge and ugly! I don't feel like it's getting better. What's next?!
Avatar n tn I was put on the oral anti fungal drug Terbinifine. I took it once a day for 2 weeks for a severe case of ringworm. The ringworm started clearing up fast, but I developed many side effects. They included: an itchy red rash, which my dermatologist said was an allergic reaction to the drug, loss of appetite, swollen glands, occasional right upper quadrant pain, which has subsided. I had shortness of breath, and I have developed a persistant productive cough.
Avatar m tn What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?
20797525 tn?1510602613 m currently on Diflucan 100mg every 3 days for 3 weeks for external vaginal yeast (which ITCHES LIKE HELL.) I have 3 doses left out of the 9 pills I was prescribed. NO RELIEF. I take the medication the day I'm due and that day I feel hopeful and a little better than the previous day. About day 2 after taking the meds I start to get that undeniable itch and then I'm right back to square one... Now I wake up and I think I've got ringworm on my breast. Now finally to my question...
Avatar f tn Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.
Avatar n tn According to his dermatologists, the EAC skin disease was, more than likely, feeding on the ringworm fungus. Treatment was based on hundreds of hours of research, and yet was still somewhat guesswork. But, it worked beautifully for him. It cleared everything up in less than 2weeks. We continued low doses of terbinafine for several weeks, and then discontinued. For about 6 months, his skin was totally clear, then we noticed a few ringworm lesions starting about 3 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn Antibiotics will not help yeast infections, in fact they can cause them, for me anyway. Monistat or diflucan OTC for the yeast infection. Not sure about the other.
Avatar f tn But like I said before I dont have insurance so she prescribed diflucan, mupirocin ointment( for bacteria) and another that starts with a Kertaphmeme(for fungal infection). Im hoping one of these things will work because im getting pretty nervous here. I'll keep you posted if i have any progress.
4100205 tn?1349787589 I have a circle of small red bumps on my forearm. My doctor thought it might be ringworm so I've been putting an over the counter women's fungal cream on it but it doesn't seem to be helping after 2 weeks. They're more pink now, not really sore at all.

Avatar f tn ) taken care of it. The border of the rash is raised and when inflamed (border) it itches like crazy. The center is very smooth but some days a little scaly (perhaps from the steroid creams). Does this look like it could be from Lyme? I was camping for two weeks with my family out west (California, Colarado, Utah, Midwest) so I could have had a tick bite and not know it?! I will definitely be following up with my Family Doctor or am considering calling a Dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Fantastic, I am so glad to hear u r feeling better!! Keep in mind, if u ever need an antibiotic for nething in the future, do ask for the DIFLUCAN to be RX'd with it so u do not have this issue again.
Avatar n tn I have been doing a lot of research and have found that vitamin E oil works great for the itching but as of yet not found anything that makes the sores heal or the outbreaks stop for any amount of time even a short break so that the older ones can heal. We only know that this is a life time problem they haven't found a cure as of yet.
Avatar n tn Hi mandykitkat, Me too I was put on Diflucan and started bleeding three days after even though my period is not due for another week or so. Avatar n tn If the presence of ringworm of the scalp is for sure and hair loss has occurred, do you think the oral would be necessary?
Avatar m tn The presence of ringworm or rash of some other sort does not meaningfully change your risk for acquistion of infection.
Avatar f tn was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
Avatar n tn Pityriasis rosea is often confused with ringworm because it typically begins with a large scaly herald patch that actually does look like a ringworm. Have this evaluated further for proper management. Direct clinical examination will help determine the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Ok, I figured that I would start another post for another question.... When I was pregnant with my son, he is 8 now, i was still working. One of the consumers I was working with had ringworm, I was very careful, and used gloves when working closely with him. About a week later, I saw one little circular patch on my right shin, and started to get worried that I was going to get the ringworm. I went right to my dr. She checked it out and said that it was not ringworm....
Avatar f tn i took my diflucan pill on monday, but i wanted to know is a white discharge a side effect of the pill? i have taking diflucan multiple times before, but i never bothered those times to actually look and see what was going on down there. this time i did and it seems like a white discharge is coming out...someone told me that was the yeast mixing w/the medicine coming out. is that true?
Avatar n tn I have a round rash on the side of my thigh and I have no idea what it is and what I should do. At first I thought it was ringworm and I put on cream specifically for ringworm and it looked like it went away, but then another rash came out in the same spot, bigger, and a little different than the one before. What should I do? Here is a picture: http://tinypic.
Avatar m tn HI In my opinion it could be fungal since you have absolutely ruled bacteria out, harmful bacteria anyway. Just to be sure why don't you get yourself 150mg of diflucan for fungal infections, if you don't have a fungal infection the diflucan won't harm you anyway. The most important thing to do is to let go of the STD fear. Paranoia and anxiety play a major role in your body, it could be as simple as genital focused anxiety. Stop watching your genitals like a hawk.
Avatar n tn I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated. I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol) Thanks for any help, Sam.
