Avatar f tn Absolutely do not use a tampon. That's the worst thing you can do. The Diflucan is actually a pregnancy category C which means risk can't be ruled out. But one dose isn't expected to have any harmful effects.
Avatar f tn hmmm... what form of terconazole did he write you? diflucan is fluconazole, another anti-fungal. so if the terconazole didn't work, i don't know if the fluconazole will. and they both are category C during pregnancy. it's safer to use anti-fungals in cream or suppository form as they would then not enter the blood stream and carry the potential to cross the placental barrier. But i don't know...
Avatar f tn Its miserable for sure. But due to them changing the drug category during pregnancy for the pill (diflucan) I dont feel its safe during pregnancy. The category was changed last year to a C for the first dose during pregnancy and then a D for the second dose. What did you do with the coconut oil?

My doctor that I had, now I'm having my 5th baby and they say Monistat is the safest to use and you can even use the cheapest brand, it's all the same.
557911 tn?1225980644 The pill you take for yeast is usually diflucan and it is strong...i know its not safe to take during pregnancy because my Dr would not perscribe it to me. There are other creams that you can take that are safe though. Maybe give your Dr a call stating your concerns before you take the pill.

14346590 tn?1451854557 Has anyone taken diflucan for a yeast infection while pregnant. My doctor gave it to me yesterday and I read that it has Not been proven safe for pregnant or nursing women. And no smart comments about "your doc wont give you anything unsafe to take while prego" because I started bleeding a WHOLE bunch last night/this morning around 1am and I had to go to the hospital.
