diflucan and pregnancy

I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?

The baby is literally a bundle of cells at this point. I was also worried about meds I had taken before I knew I was pregnant and my doctor told me just that, and not to worry.

My doctor said Diflucan is not safe during pregnancy and will only prescribe a cream if I get one. There might be mixed opinions, though.

The bleeding was light for the first week and very heavy for the last two weeks. I went to see an OBGYN and she took a simple and blood work...I have very painful and tender womb now still bleeding and awaiting the lab results. Please any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have had 4 yeast infections since December, and I got rid of this one. Thank God. And this morning I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. And I have a little bit heavier flow, but still not like normal. If I stick a q-tip up me ( in know not the smartest idea), it comes out really bloody, So I know there is blood up there, it just isn't coming out like normal.

I am 38 weeks pg., and have had a yeast inf. for about a week and a half...I have taken the Diflucan pill once, a cream (one time application) once, and now the Dr. gave me more Diflucan..... what else can I do???? Should I buy some over the counter monistat and use that too???? It is such a stubborn infection with all these hormones....what the heck do I do at this point??? I am so frustrated. Please help me.

I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??

i just finished the treatment 2 days ago....and i still have it!!!!! In the past the only thing that worked for me was Diflucan.....is it safe to use at this point in my pregnancy? Or..what should i use??? I'm desperate!!! Please Help!!!! Thank You!!

She recommended a gyn doctor that is good with diseases but he is no longer at the hospital she sent me too. I am constantly getting creams and diflucan for the yeast infections. I feel that my gyn is not meeting my need. I do not want to live on the creams and diflucan. I heard about a gyn on the radio that I would like to go to. I will make an appointment with her. I never took diflucan long term. I will get two diflucans at one time.

Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool. Then I got a really bad cold and was prescribed a Z pack. Surprise! Yeast was back. So I went to the doctor and this time they did a "wet mount" turns out I had BV and Yeast together.

I went to urgent care for treatment and was given diflucan and it didnt put a dent in it, so I went back. I was given more diflucan and it didnt do anything. I waited to see a gynocologist and had a pap smear and STD test, went back for an HPV screen. I was negative for it all and was given diflucan by her as well. I went back to her a second time and she gave me a cream for a yeast infection after admitting she didnt see signs for one and didnt know why I would be burning.

this is my first pregnancy, and I dont want to take anything to harm the baby. I have had a yeast infection before and my body feel the same way, only this time I dont have the discharge. I also have been told that they are very common in pregnancies. Will you please tell me if I can take a diflucan 150mg?

I took it and it is commonly given by obstetrics doctors. It is indicated for yeast and not harmful during pregnancy based on research and the package insert. I took it without issue and it worked great. Worth talking to your own doctor about. Most likely they will prescribe it without issue as it is again, given commonly during pregnancy.

My dr said it's ok for me to use monistat for my yeast infection, I have tried everything else. Just wondering if anyone else has used it during pregnancy. I'm a bit of a worrier.

Monistat 7 is the safest thing to use during pregnancy. I used it in early pregnancy with my 3 girls and there were healthy. if it was me don't use that prescription, just the Monistat. My doctor that I had, now I'm having my 5th baby and they say Monistat is the safest to use and you can even use the cheapest brand, it's all the same.

The pill you take for yeast is usually diflucan and it is strong...i know its not safe to take during pregnancy because my Dr would not perscribe it to me. There are other creams that you can take that are safe though. Maybe give your Dr a call stating your concerns before you take the pill.

I am almost on my last week of pregnancy and I may have a yeast infection, would taking monistat 7 now be unsafe since I'm so close to delivery? Or can my doctor prescribe me with some kind of medication?

Its hard not to eat at least some sugar though because of my blood sugar and I've tried the yogurt but my baby doesn't seem to like it when I eat it lol I usually end up throwing it up and throwing up yogurt is awful ): she is putting my on terazole 3 for now and if no results its diflucan again for two weeks. ...we've done diflucan several times, though and nothing yet... And its getting ridiculous!

I have taken Diflucan during all of my pregnancies (this is my 4th) because pregnancy changes your vaginal ph balance. Jean is right- yeast infections are extremely dangerous during pregnancy and can definitely cause the bleeding you're describing. What did the ER doc say?

Yes it's safe after 12 weeks. I am on round 2 of my dose. I am a rare case and I get VERY bad yeast and BV infections which cause bladder retention and usually have to get catherized for a week. I've had a cath 4 times this pregnancy and i'm only 16 weeks! I just took diflucan again yesterday and have another dose I will be taking in 3-5 days if the symptoms are still here. When I'm not pregnant I use oil of oregano orally for yeast.

I been taking diflucan pills and using cream proscibed by my doc.the last yeast infection I had they gave me the seven day treatment...u been done taking the but last I had sex with mii faince n when I when to the restroom it burned for me to pee ...I thought that was over with bc that the problem I been having but now the yeast is gne I didn't think this should be happening.... after taking the meds I waited over a week to have sex ....WHATS THE BIG DEAL WITH THIS AM FED UP WITH IT ..

Diflucan is NOT okay during pregnancy and any OB would know not to prescribe that to a pregnant person. So, make sure that you do not take that. Monistat is okay to use while being pregnant!

I went to the doctor and without hesitation he gave me a prescription for a drug called Diflucan. I looked the drug up a couple days after and found that it wasnt safe for pregnant or nursing women. Do any one know of this drug?? Its gets so unbearable sometimes. Its not much fun if i have to worry about an infection during my pregnancy rather than to enjoy it. Could any one help me... What could I use.

I was just wondering if MONISTAT is safe to use during pregnancy this is the one you insert (NOT ORAL PILL), and if anyone has used it and nothing unexpected or bad has happened. I just want to see other woman's experiences and make sure its somewhat safe to use.

i had mucusy yellow discharge and my doctor said it was a yeast infection. weird cus it didnt seem like one but that what she said. got diflucan and it cleared right up. dont use monistat whatever they tell you!! ask for something else like diflucan! monistat is the worst thing ever.
