i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production,which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
For my sensitive skin prone to breakouts I use Effaclar H (not the regular Effaclar) by La Roche-Posay. It is for oily skin which becomes fragile due to over-drying skincare. It can be quite hard to find, I usually order it online.
I also like Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean Cleanser which purifies oily skin without stripping or over-drying.
I can tolerate the prescription acne gel Differin (adapalene 0.1%) ask your doctor about this.

I am a 26 year old guy who has experiecned acne for half my life, probably even more. I went on accutane 3 times, ages 15, 17 and 20. After that I have tried proactiv and every medication a dermatologist could imagine. Nothing besides accutane ever worked. At this point, I don't see myself growing out of it.
I went to get a facial last week and the aesthetician said that I don't have oily skin and that what I have is not acne but ingrown hairs.
Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
When in the light I notice that on these patches there seems to be a top layer of thin skin. The Differin has subsided my breakouts nicely, but I am still left with these very noticeable red spots all over my face and I am absolutely freaking out. There appears to be no indentation so I would hope this wouldn't be permanent. Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take?
I just started getting acne just like this! I'm 22 and I started getting it over the summer with the same exact issue: the rest of my skin has normal acne or is clear and then every few weeks one of these really swollen zits appears on my chin and they cannot be popped (although I hadn't tried the needle thing). This is a new situation for me as well, so I was looking up how to handle it.
I don't know which topic to put this under because I have no idea what it is. I want to stress how important this is to resolve, as it's been affecting my life for a few years now. I am very self conscious and i have actually held back from going off to college just because of this. It affects my life tremendously.
When I was about 16 years old I started to notice that my nose was getting oily. I always dabbed it off. It started to spread to my cheeks as time went on.
Mine was totally fine until I started my third trimester....now it's extremely oily and I have patches of flaky skin that are raw red itchy and very oily....does anyone have some clue as to what causes this and what will make it go away!!??

Second baby was a boy. Had no greasy hair nor oily skin. My third was a boy and had no greasy hair nor oily skin. Im thinking im having a girl because her hormones and mine are raging. I feel so ugly. Ive never had greasy hair nor oily skin or acne when I was a teenager or pregnant except with my first girl. I dont know what to use. My face is sensitive already so I use minimal product. I also usually have beautiful natural skin so I dont use makeup except a little bronze.
I dont remember the last time i had a pimple let alone multiple. Now my skin is so oily and i can see blackheads on my chin and forehead. I stopped using my nightly washes bc of the chemicals. I currently use clean n clear for sensitive skin and cera ve lotion. I need something stronger but safe! Im willing to mix random things up at home if anyone has any good suggestions! Thank u!
Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Thank you for your advise! I decided to have the mole removed. I have a new question that I feel confident you can answer. I have extremely oily skin. I have tried Retina A, and a sulfur wash. Neither one helped with the oil, they only made my pores appear smaller. My dermatologist suggested I take Isotretinoin. She said it will shrink my oil glands in my skin. I looked online and haven't seen any result to use this for treatment of oily skin.
I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
I've never had acne but since I've been pregnant my face has been breaking out left & right. I wash my face every morning & every night as well with a face scrub from clinic & nothing is working.
