Adapalene differin skin

Common Questions and Answers about Adapalene differin skin

differin

Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar m tn Moisturizers and oatmeal baths sooth the skin. After the skin peels, the healthy skin surfaces and should even out your skin color. If the redness persists, it is best to discuss this with your dermatologist for further evaluation. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness. Use a bland, soap-free cleanser to minimise irritation. I recommend Effaclar or Physiological Cleansing Gel by La Roche-Posay. Find a more sympathetic doctor. If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars.
Avatar m tn Do not pop spots or blackheads. This seldom improves their appearance and will spread the bacteria under the skin causing future breakouts. There are many scrubs and masks on the market which can improve the appearance of blackheads. If they are of limited benefit to you, ask your doctor about Differin gel. This is a topical retinoid which contains Adapalene 0.1%. It works deep into your pores and is effective at clearing both acne and blackheads. Eloise.
Avatar n tn I can tolerate the prescription acne gel Differin (adapalene 0.1%) ask your doctor about this. If your skin reacts to this, an oral acne medication may be more appropriate. A 12 weeks course of Oxytetracycline will kill the acne-causing bacteria on your skin. Eloise.
Avatar n tn Large pores can be easily dealt with proper cleansing and frequent toning and moisturizing of the skin. Other treatments to consider include microdermabrasion, skin resurfacing lasers and chemical skin peels. In my opinion you should discuss these treatment options with a cosmetologist/dermatologist. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar m tn It is very effective and well tolerated with few side effects such as peeling or dryness. Differin contains 0.1% adapalene which is effective against the abnormal skin processes associated with acne. It will relieve the inflammation, soreness and irritation you feel. Acne is caused when androgens (hormones) stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands. It commonly occurs on the chin as the T-zone is likely to be more oily than other areas. Eloise.
1632818 tn?1299941302 I clarified that my problem was that my skin was sensitive, sore and feels like its burning after washing, and asked if differin would dry out my skin. She said that while it helped my "acne" it would also help with my eczma and that I should leave it on overnight. She said I should try to stop using my moisturiser too and just use the sunscreen, as this with the differin would be enough. I put my fears aside and trusted her and followed her advice.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar n tn When in the light I notice that on these patches there seems to be a top layer of thin skin. The Differin has subsided my breakouts nicely, but I am still left with these very noticeable red spots all over my face and I am absolutely freaking out. There appears to be no indentation so I would hope this wouldn't be permanent. Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take?
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of keratosis pilaris. It occurs when the human body produces excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin. There is currently no known cure for keratosis pilaris, however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication.
Avatar n tn Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn During Adapalene & Clindamycin phosphate therapy, an apparent exacerbation of acne may occur and this is due to the action of medicine on previously unseen lesions and should not be considered a reason to discontinue the therapy...good results should be noticed after 8 to 12 weeks of treatment.
Avatar n tn I have always had these red dots on my skin, mainly on my arms and some on my bum as well. I had them since I was little but not sure what they are. i notice quite a few people have them as well. It also makes my skin not very smooth but instead quite rough sometimes; I am very self conscious of my arms as they make my arm red all over with dots. Does anyone know what they are?
1364054 tn?1346005167 An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn He seemed to think it was a type of acne and has given me minocycline. If I do have KP or chicken skin is this an effective medication? The bumps are very hard to squeeze and if they are squeezable a very small amount of white stuff comes out. which resembles a fine string. Any ideas? Diagnosis?
Avatar n tn Why is my skin rough and bumpy on my legs. I've all types of lotions and luffas to solve this problem and I don't know what else to do. This discussion is related to little red bumps on arms legs.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
