Avatar f tn i have extremely oily skin and i think its because i use my acne medications such as differin and duac but even though i wash my face 3 times a daii it is still oily and its worse during parties because i cant wash my face then..? wat should i doo..any herbal remedies as well?
Avatar n tn It seems that antibiotics are the ONLY thing that cure my acne since I have really oily skin. The topicals dry it out in the beginning, and I only apply a little, but then my sebaceous glands quickly make up for the lack of oil. I always keep it well moisturized with noncomedogenic lotion but by noon I look like a grease monkey :-( Any help would be great !!!!
Avatar n tn the first couple of days made my skin better, but now i seem to have a couple more zits formed, and my skin seems oilier. i dont know if its because its drawing out all of the impurities, or if its not right for my sensitive skin. how long should i keep using it for also? just in case it is right, i dont want to give up too soon. thanks.
Avatar f tn I think there would be no negative long term effects on your young skin- just remember Differen dries out the skin so keep it moisturised, and always wear sunscreen to keep skin looking young.
Avatar n tn Hi- I know that within the first few weeks of using Differin it is normal to have some irritation, redness, and peeling of the skin, but I have about 5 bright red patches on my skin after using this topical. When in the light I notice that on these patches there seems to be a top layer of thin skin. The Differin has subsided my breakouts nicely, but I am still left with these very noticeable red spots all over my face and I am absolutely freaking out.
1632818 tn?1299941302 I clarified that my problem was that my skin was sensitive, sore and feels like its burning after washing, and asked if differin would dry out my skin. She said that while it helped my "acne" it would also help with my eczma and that I should leave it on overnight. She said I should try to stop using my moisturiser too and just use the sunscreen, as this with the differin would be enough. I put my fears aside and trusted her and followed her advice.
Avatar m tn After almost a year and a half of using it, however, I started getting the above mentioned itchy pimple problem and was also left with noticeably red and flaky skin all over my nose and on many portions of my forehead. Even after stopping the treatment, however, the itchy pimples, red/flaky/oily/whitehead-filled skin persist! The multiple dermatologists I’ve seen for this problem have diagnosed me with either Rosacea and/or seborrheic dermatitis.
Avatar n tn Hi Dr. Rockoff I am a 26 year old guy who has experiecned acne for half my life, probably even more. I went on accutane 3 times, ages 15, 17 and 20. After that I have tried proactiv and every medication a dermatologist could imagine. Nothing besides accutane ever worked. At this point, I don't see myself growing out of it. I went to get a facial last week and the aesthetician said that I don't have oily skin and that what I have is not acne but ingrown hairs.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar f tn My face and hair have become so oily. I can't stand it. It make me feel dirty. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you use to make it stop?
Avatar f tn When I wake up my skin is so oily and my hair is also. Why?? Anyone else having this problem and if u are, what's the sex of the baby? I read oily skin and hair means boy! Is it true?
Avatar m tn s embedded deep within the skin, has no visible head, is shiny but not overly-oily, and the only way I can ever get it to open to relieve pressure is by stabbing a (sterilized) needle a few millimeters into my flesh until I "break through," in which case a mix of blood and oil will come out only to eventually seal up and become pressurized again, usually with blood being visibly trapped under the skin.
Avatar f tn We have tried over the counter products containing benzoyl peroxide and/or salicyclic acid, and sulfur. They seem to have made his acne worse. He does not have oily skin, and the pimples are just red - they do not seem to be puss-filled. I have tried products from 3-6 weeks before discontinuing. Am I giving them long enough? Are there any natural, home remedies I could try while I am waiting for him to see a dermatologist (in one month)? THANK YOU!
Avatar f tn Second baby was a boy. Had no greasy hair nor oily skin. My third was a boy and had no greasy hair nor oily skin. Im thinking im having a girl because her hormones and mine are raging. I feel so ugly. Ive never had greasy hair nor oily skin or acne when I was a teenager or pregnant except with my first girl. I dont know what to use. My face is sensitive already so I use minimal product. I also usually have beautiful natural skin so I dont use makeup except a little bronze.
Avatar f tn Mine was totally fine until I started my third trimester....now it's extremely oily and I have patches of flaky skin that are raw red itchy and very oily....does anyone have some clue as to what causes this and what will make it go away!!??
Avatar m tn It can be caused by heredity, diet, hormone levels, pregnancy, birth control pills and hot and humid weather. Oily skin needs special cleansing with plenty of hot water and soap to prevent the pores from being clogged. Avoid harsh products that strip your skin of oil and encourage flakiness. They can cause a reaction known as reactive seborrhoea, where the oil glands work overtime to compensate for the loss of natural oils.
Avatar f tn It purifies your skin and absorbs all of the oil. It helps to exfoliate before you use it and use a water based lotion after. Saved my skin. Even from stretch marks! Use daily though.
Avatar f tn I noticed my normal/dry skin starting to become very oily. Now I have clusters of zits? Im 28 weeks now and 28 years old....anything anyone can recommend for skin care?
Avatar m tn s been about a month and I feel like my skin is still purging (still with red pimples and white pus), which is fine with me. Although I trust my dermatologist and feel his prescriptions are working for me, my family worried that I am not improving fast enough and dragged me to see a second opinion just in case. The second dermatologist worries me, as he rushed through the visit, barely looking up to take any examinations.
470885 tn?1326329037 yes my skin is changing bad i normally have oily skin but now i have very bad oily skin and i break out bad zits like crazy the many joys of pregnancy
Avatar f tn Also the moisturizer may seem unnecessary if your skin is already oily but if your skin is not getting the moisture it needs, your body tells your oil producing skin cells to work overtime and produce more, therefore causing oily skin. So giving your skin proper moisture will actually cause your skin to have to produce less oils making your skin not as oily. Now that goes for your hair too.
1068689 tn?1325827206 I am no expert with the therapy as I have never been on it before however I do believe oily skin is related to higher T levels. My total T is at the high end and i have, always had oily skin. Not to mention body builders who take steroids and such to boost their T levels often deal with acne and breakouts in those areas. I would think that if the only change you made recently was going on the injections, it would be related to the new things you are seeing.
