5648238 tn?1431863784 Hello. I've looked online and have gotten different answers. While breastfeeding, do women need to stay on basically the same diet as pregnancy? I really want deli meats like Subway. I know the chances of be getting anything is low, but would rather stay away from it while pregnant.
Avatar f tn s definitely not healthy trying to diet while pregnant. Most of the weight is baby and fluid. Once you give birth and breast feed you'll lose the weight in no time. My friend a few weeks after birth looked like she had never been pregnant and had been working out at a gym. She actually weighed less than she did pre pregnancy. She also had an 8lb baby. Breast feeding helps you lose the weight.

Avatar n tn I don't know anything about Splenda but my instinct tells me to ease off on the stuff just because it is a synthetic product that has not been around for many years... we don't really know what, if any, impact it can have on a grwoing fetus... As for coffee, most doctors say that it's fine to have 1 or 2 a day but I've suffered miscarriages in the past and coffee, along with other things, can be linked to increased chances of miscarriage...

Avatar f tn s not like they were prescribed by two different doctors who were unaware that you were taking two products with calcium). Pregnant women need 1000mg a day and if they are teens, need 1300 mg a day of calcium. the shecal st has 500 mg. Primagest is given to women who are low on folate but which is something that pregnant women need. However, you could probably find a better and cheaper option than that.
341551 tn?1266980730 I understand as well! As someone who is ttc, I'm constantly wondering about my body and what it will do to it. Ever since the New Year, I've had NO motivation to keep up my low cal diet, because in my head, I want to be pregnant soon, so I figure what's the point of watching my weight now! (I'm at a perfectly healthy weight now btw) I guess for me, I don't want to be consumed with the want to have a child.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm back again. It's been going ok so far and my first outbreak is almost over. The blisters have healed and some have basically disappeared already. What I wanted to know is....how sensitive is the herpes virus to the foods you eat in particular foods high in arginine. I've done my research and I know that I need to avoid those foods but if I do have them once in a while...

646038 tn?1268395986 One of these concerns is regarding artificial sweeteners and their use during pregnancy. Many women will cut sugar out of their diet, only to replace it with foods and drinks that are artificially sweetened. These guidelines provide information from research done on the safety of these sweeteners. As with most things in pregnancy, it is always best to consult with your health care provider about what artificial ingredients are safe for you to use during your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn If you're underweight you're going to want to gain 30-40 pounds while pregnant. If you're severely underweight, you'll ideally want to gain more - in that situation your doctor would be your best guide. The key is moderation. You only need 300-500 extra calories while pregnant, so you don't have to 'eat for two'. Try looking for foods that will keep you fuller for longer, or eat small snacks through the day.
Avatar f tn Well I'm pregnant for the first time and I'm not too sure about what I should/shouldn't be eating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Avatar n tn Food triggers are different for different persons. Some people find cold foods worsening the pain whereas some find spicy foods intolerable. Foods that contain a lot of fat may also trigger the pain. For you it seems to be the same. Please avoid spicy, high salt and high fat diet. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!

Avatar f tn Just normally (not pregnant) we're supposed to eat about 1900 calories a day. When you're pregnant you're supposed to eat 300 more than what you normally would. Non pregnant people who eat 1000 calories a day are likely to lose up to 2 pounds a week so I dunno how healthy 1200 would be while pregnant. You'll just need to listen to your body.
Avatar m tn I am concerned that if I even eat one trigger food, my esophagus will swell up again. Has anybody started incorporating trigger foods into your diet? Also, I am concerned because I don't usually FEEL reflux. It is more silent, I think sometimes.
