1550149 tn?1340004330 Doctors may ask a newly diagnosed person to work with a dietitian on a gluten-free diet plan. A dietitian is a health care professional who specializes in food and nutrition. Someone with celiac disease can learn from a dietitian how to read ingredient lists and identify foods that contain gluten in order to make informed decisions at the grocery store and when eating out. For most people, following this diet will stop symptoms, heal existing intestinal damage, and prevent further damage.

Avatar n tn It seems the drink differs among offices, b/c my friend in NYC had orange and mine (in RI) was like non-diet sprite. I thought it tasted very sweet but fine to drink. We'll see about tomorrow though as I have to drink more of it during 3 hours, so hope I don't get sick then. Plus, I got up at 4am today b/c anxious to do the test today but they rescheduled it until tomorrow. I know there's a lot false positives with the screening, so I'm hoping I'm one of those and not actually have GD.

It seemed to develop suddenly, right after switching over to the kidney health diet. Anyways the retest was better. They saw a difference and have us up to five units twice a day. I wish I would have gotten his levels, but I was distracted, because our new cat got out while I was away. I thought she was gone, but she did come back eventually.
Avatar f tn of kidney disease, diabetes...if a bleed could he survive that with his health problems? We were given samples so ok there for time being. The swelling may be due to new heart failure...he had a minor bout years ago. The echo results should tell us something. The clot was unexpected...did the xarelto break up your sisters clot? Mostly they speak of prevention .. not much said of getting rid of a clot already there. Small clot in his calf...I'll post results as I know them...again thank you!

I did consume them years ago when first trying to correct leaky gut with gut candida.
Avatar m tn I have Type 2 Diabetes and was put on Victoza yesterday, my doctor wants me to take this for weight loss. I would just like to know if anyone has lost weight or has had any side effects while taking this medication. I was on Byetta but the nausea never stopped and I felt bad all of the time. I took my first dose this morning of Victoza and so far there has been no nausea--I just hope it lasts. Any comments on this medication would greatly be appreciated.

Avatar n tn T I have already been tested for celiac, lupus, lyme disease, R/A, all the heps and seems to be no fear of diabetes. All negative. I have been tested for Wilsons and the other heridtary liver disorders. Negative. Had a sono- all looked fine. The GGT (which she didn’t test for last time) came back high 168 (3-50) ESR, Westergren (not sure what that is) is 25 when it should be (0-20) Also the smooth muscle AB titer is positive 1:20 when it should be under 1:20 so it is just borderline.

(I have personally done this in the lab) The reference ranges include people with occult (hidden) thyroid disease. The only way to rule out these samples would be to test for antibodies, perform a thyroid ultrasound and to exclude those people with a family or personal history of thyroid disease.
