Avatar f tn Hi there. So, let me ask you this . . . since being diagnosed with prediabetes and losing some weight and changing up how you eat, did your numbers change regarding the pre diabetes diagnosis? I think it is definitely a good goal to get a diet you can maintain without losing weight. You must be extremely thin now! Definitely can understand why you'd like to gain a bit of weight. I found an article that talks about how to gain weight when you have diabetes.
Avatar n tn im needing to find a simple diabetic diet plan. the doctor gave me one but it seems really complicated. does anyone know any good sources for diabetic diet plans?
Avatar f tn You have to be put on a diet and check ur blood sugars to make sure they are fine otherwise they will put u on meds, so follow the diet plan they give u. And when u get further along they will just monitor the babys growth because gd causes baby to grow larger than normal so if the baby is larger then u will need a csection. I have gd and this is my second pregnancy and I am on a controlled diet but I am having a csection because I had it with my first.
Avatar n tn The only confusion is when the sugar levels reach borderline values (depending on intake),should be taken care. But if you follow a controlled diet plan and label each days intake, it would be easy to measure and determine the dosage exactly within very low value uo and downs. So the levels of sugar is always dependent on the type of diet you follow to keep your sugar under control.I will send you a message giving you specific details about diet restriction and control blood sugar.

480448 tn?1426948538 Adopting lifestyle changes make a HUGE difference in the chance of developing pre-diabetes or diabetes. Also, if you have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, NOW is the time to make those changes, to prevent the disease from progressing. Basic Prevention Tips: 1. Weight management. Avatar n tn Why are you posting and not your father? Can you explain "precautions"? Do you mean prevent his diabetes from progressing? If yes we need to know what he is doing to control and manage his diabetes - foods he eats, exercise program, blood sugar levels and when he tests? "the good diet plan for them...." Changing lifestyle habits can go a long way in controlling type 2 diabetes. India leads the world in diabetes. This is mainly due to poor diet/nutrition.
Avatar n tn Along with avoiding sugary foods a low to no carb diet plan is recommended for t2 diabetics. Carbs to t2 diabetics are the same as sugar - elevates our glucose [blood sugar] above and beyond acceptable levels. A very good place to look for low carb recipes is the Atkins [diet] web site http://tinyurl.com/atkins-recipes . Replace sugar with artificial sweeteners such as Splenda or Stevia.
Avatar f tn Also, if you do the three hour test and its determined you have gestational diabetes, the doc will put you on a diet. You can look up a diet plan on the Internet and save time and money. I don't think there are meds to control this either. I have cut out a lot of sweets from my diet. I actually feel a lot better. I felt weak and tired a lot before. I guess this was partly why.
Avatar m tn I read that article and the 15 foods that people with diabetes should avoid. The article makes sense when it says to avoid sugars, sodas, processed foods, and white flour products. The inclusion of grilled meat, is not the meat that is the problem, but if that meat gets burned.... Coffee??? it's not coffee that is the problem its when the coffee has lots of added sugar. The article is still pushing the mantra of limiting saturated fats and eating 'healthy whole grains".
Avatar m tn When your blood sugar is on border line, then it is always good to control your blood sugar level at that stage itself with proper diet plan and with regular exercise. Have regular checkup to see your sugar level. You can even try for GlycaCare tablets containing herbal extracts and nutrients that would help you keep your sugar level in control.
Avatar f tn m glad you found this helpful! I did lose weight with being on the new meal plan and especially in the beginning of the diet. Now my weight is basically leveled out. I'm 37+2 and have barely gained weight since having GD and being on the new diet. Oh, and I know for me, my water intake has increased a lot! Maybe that has something to do with my weight, but I have noticed I'm more thirsty and mainly for cold water. So, if this should happen to you ladies do not worry and it is normal.
Avatar n tn T AUTOMATICALLY PLACE MY CHILD ON A 504 PLAN, LIKE I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD. BUT I FOUND AN ARTICLE THAT COMFORTED ME AS I WAS GOING THROUGH THE "PROCESS" OF HAVING THE RESISTANT SCHOOL PLACE MY CHILD ON A 504. ALTHOUGH TO AVOID CONFRONTATION I DIDN'T EVER SHOW THE SCHOOL THIS ARTICLE. GOOGLE FEDERAL LAWS AND DIABETES MANAGEMENT AT SCHOOL THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY TO FIND THE ARTICLE.
72351 tn?1281992542 We cannot offer medical advice, and frankly, we are folks whose experience is with insulin treatment of type 1 diabetes instead of type 2 diabetes (which is your condition since you are not taking insulin). However, the common sense answer is that if you only take one tablet per day, you certainly want it doing most of its work while you are awake and eating fairly often than at night while you are not.
1802952 tn?1315981161 I'm trying to find a good diet for me. The thing is I had my gallbladder taking out and I can't eat a lot of foods like I could before. Is there a good diet plan for someone who had their gallbladder taking out? Also, I'm a picky eater..LOL! I think that's why I do so bad on diets.

Avatar f tn The article I posted doesn't address or even mention interferon in association with diabetes mellitus. It addressed the association between HCV and DM specifically and found: "........Our finding of excess DM risk with HCV infection in comparison to non-infected controls is strengthened by consistency of results from both prospective and retrospective studies.

212161 tn?1599427282 Hi Barbara. For the benefit of all members reading this, perhaps the complete article in its entirety should be given, as it is 5 pages long, I believe. It helps establish the Nitrosamines link to Alzheimer's/Diabetes and it contains a lot of additional useful information regarding Alzheimer's. (That's why I had it archived) Alzheimer's: Diabetes of the Brain?" ( the title of the article) has been been explored well before this article appeared on the Doctor Oz website.
