Avatar n tn I know I have a deviated septum but no sure if it could cause all that. I find myself having to breath more through my mouth than my nose. It is easier for me. I have tried some breathing exercises that help somewhat. There is a website from someone named Michael White where he sells a CD to help with breathing exercises. It does seem to help somewhat. It shows the importance of breathing and how to do it properly. I also tried your exercise HAVA and it seemed to help also.
Avatar n tn It sometimes work but I have to yawn several times utill I goes to deep sleep. Also I am suffering form Deviated nasal septum prob.(left side ) from 6 yrs , but uptill 4 yrs. Avatar m tn I just took a new PFT test and my breathing is normal. i did have a deviated septum but got that fixed..My lung specialist says its just all in my head and that i have this because ive become aware of my breathing pattern. i've used advair, singular and breathing pumps for asthma with no results. when im sitting or laying down its seems to be fine but when i stand up or move it kicks in more. I'm losing hope on what's going on with me. Does anyone have this?

Avatar n tn I also have increasingly bad short term memory problems (at only 25), could this be connected to the yawning, and lack of oxygen to the brain? could I have asthma? thank you so much for any help you can give me.
Avatar m tn Hi All, I am 30 now and I am suffering from severe Nasal congestion for almost 15 years now. I also have a deviated nasal septum. Nasal congestion started when I was 16 and for the next 4 years I was completely addicted to OTRIVIN. When I realized this was causing permanent damage to my nasal membranes, I managed to stop otrivin. Currently I am facing many problems due to Nasal congestion - I am never feeling fresh in the morning, Always sleepy in the office and continuously yawning.
Avatar m tn Could this be due to a sinus issue? I believe I had a deviated septum but I don't have nasal discharge. Just have trouble breathing through my nose almost all the time. My family doctor doesn't think so and says its probably stress or depression but I disagree. What do you think? Thank you.
Avatar n tn Two months later my ENT saw me and confirmed that I did have a sinus infection and a deviated septum that he said I've had for years. He also sent me for a barium swallow action xray. No sign of throat problem and he put me on a series of antibiotics for sinus infection. Got appointment for nasal surgery after Sinus CT scan showed severe blocking in right nasal and some in left. Saw Eye doctor for many tests because I hadn't had sleep in my eyes for months and eyesight was getting weird.

Avatar n tn I got a tonsillectomy and deviated septum repaired on 10/15/09 and have noticed that I have a sharp pain on my soft palate ever since. Any type of swallowing makes it worse. is there any reason why my palate would hurt? This discussion is related to Mysterious Soft Palate Pain.

189372 tn?1219836958 I then visited an ENT to rule out sinus problems, CT showed deviated septum which has now been repaired. Still sinus problems remain (Inflammation) I have had an ECG Roughly 6 months ago as I was having chest pain an left arm pain although ECG was normal. I have had various blood tests at my Dr’s, among the tests was cholesterol which showed high (Level 6) although my Dr didn’t think this was much cause for concern as it wasnt too high.

Avatar n tn The key to this is for you to establish that there is no problem with your heart and lungs. If the tests performed have already done this, then this should help with your anxiety over this problem. It is not common for allergy or postnasal drip to cause a sensation of difficulty breathing. However, some people who have a blocked nose do express this sensation.

Avatar n tn In February of this year I got a CT scan and the ENT doctor said I have a severe deviated septum with chronic sinusitis. I was treated for a sinus infection and that was it. I still felt bad so I went to a neurologist. He wrote it off as a vestibular problem. I did vestibular therapy for 2 months with almost no relief. In May when allergy season started, everything got worse. I have had nonstop sinus pressure/pain, headache, dizziness, major eye strain, my face is sore, my teeth are sore.

Avatar n tn I ended up having to miss work, pay $400 after insurance, and he never did tell me what was wrong. I also have problems with my sinuses, a different ENT said I have a severe deviated septum. He wants me to have surgery to correct this, I am nervous. I have also recently got braces thinking that it had to do with my jaw, I have had them on for 1 year and 2 months and it has not helped. I do see a chiropractor for my neck, I have never heard that it could be from the muscles in your neck.
Avatar n tn 22 year old male. Very active. Healthy diet. Chronic nose congestion from deviated septum and allergies, causing a lot of mouth breathing esp. while sleeping... wondering if this causes the issue.
Avatar m tn The doctor said acid reflux it did help some to increase previcid to 15 X2 a day. My nose is 100% blocked by deviated septum believe this is also a contributing factor. In addition to those symptoms I am experiencing whistle from my nose and wheezing from my lungs no fluid according to the DR.??? I have had two MRI in this time with no definitive result. They continue to try to treat the symptoms but no diagnosis. They act like I am crazy!
