Avatar n tn The doctor kinda acted like a ***** and said the damage isn't done from someone hitting you, when in actuallity my bone is messed up from getting hit and my septum is deviated.

Avatar m tn The other day my sister mentioned something about a deviated septum. My mother once had one, but it was because of an injury if I recall correctly. I decided to take a look online at some pictures and I'm wondering if part of my problem has been "right under my nose" this hole time. I've attached a picture of what I think looks like one. I should also note that last summer I got some hormone panels done. My testosterone was 236 (which is what you'd expect of a 70 year old man).
Avatar n tn it must be a NUCCA Specialist) I had symptoms that I never would have related to being connected. Jaw clicking, deviated septum, chronic sinus issues, pain in left hip, digestive issues, lower back pain, the list goes on.
Avatar f tn Dr Antony This is becoming very interesting With the scan in 1998 it said I had a deviated septum as well as blocked sinuses. The scan last week 2009 showed septum central. I went back to the CT scan radiologist and said does that mean septum is straight as I cant have a deviated septum in 1998 and a central (straight ) septum in 2009. I was told the top Dr at the radiologist (In Australia) will look at the scan and advise me. So does central mean straight?
Avatar m tn I do have a crooked nose, deviated septum. I find it suspicious but I understand that documenting it with pictures would be the only way to get a doctor to look at my case.
Avatar f tn My only other leads are polyps or a deviated septum, but I really can't find a lot of information on it. Anyone have any ideas?

Avatar f tn This last surgery, they put orbital rim implants in both eye sockets along with correcting a deviated septum because I started to have a sinking appearance of the eyes, worse on the right. After the swelling started to go away, my right eye appeared to drift outward. The drs. thought that when the swelling came down some more, my eye would turn in straight and the double vision would go away. Well, my right eye still looks like quazzie moto, and wanders outward still.
Avatar m tn • A defect or injury in the cartilage of the nose, called a deviated septum, can cause chronic blockage in the nasal area. This may be corrected by surgery. • Other irritants can inflame the nasal passages, such as air pollution, cigarette smoke, cigar smoke, and perfumes made from synthetic ingredients. Once again, see your doctor, or avoid the irritants. • Asthma is an immune disease, and asthma sufferers are highly susceptible to sinusitis.
Avatar n tn If the xray is positive for a sinus infection, he'll have me take an antibiotic and we'll work together to clear it up. I may also need to see someone about my deviated septum, which might be contributing to the problem. If my chest xray is abnormal we'll also talk about that, but he isn't expecting it to be. If both xrays are normal, we'll get a CT scan done to rule out anything else. Per my doc, my asthma meds had always returned my lung function to pretty much normal levels.
Avatar n tn So probably will have to go in with cameras, etc to open up sinuses, plus i also have a deviated septum. Well anyway i got a few weeks so see if the Colloidal Silver works. Please keep in touch. How have you been feeling lately?
Avatar f tn I was unable to see below me and had difficulty with steps, curbs, or uneven ground. I also had to undergo a sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum which was done at the same time of my orbital implants. I am still feeling the effects of that surgery, almost 3 months later. I am still having a hard time breathing, my right side of my nose is numb, and I wear an eye patch on my glasses all day just so I could see what I am doing.
Avatar m tn I went to an ENT specialist who diagnosed sinusitis due to restricted airflow because of a deviated septum. After two surgeries for this there is no improvment. I've tried Musinex and steroid nose sprays. Nothing seems to help. I've read that this could be Laryngopharyngeal reflux and could be treated with Medrol or Budesonide. Could this be true? This discussion is related to Excessive Thick Mucous in Throat-- HELP!!!.
Avatar n tn I have the machine but the medical supply company forgot to send me the mask. Four months ago I had surgery for a deviated septum. I have mentioned some of these other symptoms since I have suscpected: 1. Lyme Disease 2. Numb Chin Syndrom 3. Mercury Poisoning I strongly suscpet Lyme disease since it is the only thing I have read that could explain so many ailments at one time that come and go. I was certainly in a position to have picked it up due to my outdoor lifestyle.
Avatar f tn Refuse to look at before/after pictures. Then Tell me that my midline is aligned perfectly. I learned what happened from one dentist who ordered the 3DCT Scan, (which I had begged others to do prior, and been refused). That dentist said to me "no one else will help you will they, no orthodontist etc... he wanted to make a hybrid appliance to try and torque my maxilla. I was advised not to do it by several.
371999 tn?1250021541 just so happens that i needed to pick up an MRI cd/report to take to my ENT doc (for unrelated deviated septum) that I saw on the report, "cerebellar tonsillar ectopia". This MRI was done last July, and nothing was done about it, cuz I guess my primary had no idea what that was. Well, I read in the notes that it is a 6mm (below the foramen magnum) cerebellar tonisallar ectopia. I just so happened to look this up, and came across all of this. I AM SHOCKED!!!
Avatar n tn Yes, diastisis recti should be covered by insurance! It's no different than having a deviated septum and getting a nose job for free, which people do all the time. It's no different than having a hernia from lifting weights. If men got pregnant, it would be covered. It's an injury!
Avatar n tn I had tonsilectomy 2 weeks prior the click started and I feel that this click is the after cause of the surgery. Of course ENT will say that everything is fine, because he is the one that did the surgery... I keep touching my wind tunnel and pushing it with my fingers to the right, something clicks, then after I swallow next few times there is no click and then it comes back again. Very tired of this clicking sound... Don't know if it ever will go away.
Avatar n tn I am at the age where my hormones could be dropping because of menopause which could mean an increase in the belching thing. I know that there is no medical proof of this...but it has been this way for me for years until this last year and now my cycle is inconsistant and I belch all the time. So weirdly it may be related. I just got the results of my ultrasound and something in my pelvic area is prolapsed. If the bowel dropped down too it could be stressed. Who knows...
Avatar n tn with the ENT and found that I had a deviated septum. By the looks from my CT scan it was not pretty. It made sense why i would have pressure in my face and ear. Before going into surgery the anthesiologist found that I had a murmur, but said it was nothing to worry about. After the surgery, the symptoms continued. I went back to the ENT and was tested for Meinere's. This came out negative. I made an appt. with a neurologist and had an MRI.
Avatar n tn well, the mri/mra would have shown a developing aneurysm, or avm. an arterial vein malformation gives off symptoms like a cva. so does an aneurysm, in any case the mri scan would have definitely picked it up. an aneurysm is a balooning of an artery in many levels, there can be a dissecting, that is whenit forms a pseudolumen, which fills with blood.
Avatar m tn I had a tooth extracted, thought that might be it.-NOT. Had sinus surgury for deviated septum , thought that would do it. -NOT. I was glad to find this sight to learn that I am not the only one. Good to know. I think I will copy this to take with me for the next visit. I am going to go back to the doctor, because I hardly can eat anything now that does not get partially stuck. I have a pill stuck there right now, and I get my allergy pill stuck there every morning before work.
Avatar n tn I had my tonsils and adenoids removed, hoping it would alleviate some of the pressure and eyes issues, by maybe improving drainage, though it didn't, and I am going to have my deviated septum corrected. I feel like anyone I explain this to just thinks I'm crazy, no one understands. I don't know what to try next or where to turn.
Avatar f tn I have an appointment with a neurologist in a few weeks, and I had prepared a list of symptoms for that visit. Before going to the ER, my husband printed out the list to take along, hoping it might help. The ER doctor did not even examine me (he sent in a medical student). He did say he read my symptom list, but the best he could do was prescribe an antidepressant? AND for all of his hard work he will receive payment from my insurance company? What is wrong with this system??????
Avatar n tn nothing will unplug them and I too, have been to the ENT, nothing wrong they say other than deviated septum! haha...more to it then that me thinks!
Avatar n tn My younger son has been diagnosed w/asthma so maybe there's some connection there. Sci_teacher, did your symptoms start before or after you were diagnsed w/asthma? I am taking my daughter to the pediatricin Nov. 21st and will write when I return, hopefully with some sort of answer.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering with ETD (or what I believe to be ETD) for about three months following an close proxemity to an explosion in Baghdad that also perforated (now healed) my eardrums. I posted before, but about 10 days after woke up with severe pain in both ears. This is extremely frustrating for me because all the info out there (and there really isn't that much to begin with) is about ETD caused by allergies.
