depo-provera

Avatar n tn On Dec. 5th,2003 i received my first shot of depo-provera. In the month of Jan. I spoted for almost 3 weeks straight, and for two days in the month of Feb.On March 6th,2004 i missed my second shot.On the 15, i felt my baby move for the first time ,and i am just starting to have pregnancy symptoms like sleepiness, frequent urination.I also startd my period again after missing my shot. I still continue to feel my baby on a regular basis.
Avatar n tn but yeah I called my doctor and he denied it being the Depo Provera, said it is probably just a yeast infection and to take some monistat.... though when I get the depo shot I also had a pap which came back with no signs of a yeast infection only three days before i started having this problem... though I didn't think about the fact that I couldn have gotten one afterwards, because of the dryness and what not. What ever is going on it just has to go away.
Avatar n tn Does anyone else get this? im just wondering if it is from the depo as well. My obgyn gave me yeast infection pills to take but those didnt seem to work. help please ?!
Avatar n tn since they did a urine alaysis and came back w/a bladder infection so i was taking the anitbotics for that and also i had gotten a yeast infection so i was also taking diflucan. I got off bc in july of last year and got 3 afs after that and skipped a month. so that is when i got it in dec. now i am just waiting for af to show up. this is definaletly worse then to ttw. lol. My gyno said that if i get my af next month then she is going to start me on clomid.
Avatar n tn I have been on depo for 11 years. I would be due for my next shot on 9/27 but my Doctor has advised that I stop having it. She has been treating me for migraines and depression with Imitrex (when needed) and a daily dosage of Prozac of 10mg. The Imitrex thankfully, works, and the migraines have also been lessened by the Prozac.
Avatar n tn i have had surgery in the 80s for partial endometriosis, have had 1 ectopic pregnancy about 8 years ago and am now on depo-provera birth control for the past 8 years or so. my questions are: would i have a normal vaginal ph balance if there was some std present? would having had partial endometriosis and an ectopic pregnancy in the past and having surgery for it and/or being on depo-provera for the past 10 years have any effect on getting these yeast infections?
Avatar n tn I received the birthcontrol shot 'Depo-provera' sometime in August, and in late September I started getting a slightly odd brown vaginal discharge, not long after, I started spotting uterus tissue and blood, typical period, I hear you can still have a light period when on the shot. But It's been about a week since the actual bleeding has stopped and I'm still getting the discharge, it smells a tiny bit metallic and I thought it may just be left over dead blood or something.
Avatar n tn I have had discharge that seems murky brown, and even blood spotting. (I do not get a period due to Depo provera, so it cannot be menstrual blood). After urination (which is not painful, but feels slightly uncomfortable) I gently blot instead of wiping, because it's extremely sensitive and painful, and usually trace amounts of fresh, red blood appear on the toilet paper. I have not had sex in 2 days, but it remains just as painful.
Avatar f tn I have had a yeast infection nonstop for about 3 years in conjunction with periodic urinary tract infections, I also have had biweekly to bimonthly chronic throat infections both on and around the tonsils (white stones) and major swelling causing pressure on my ears to the point of frequent ear aches for eight months along with forever surfacing blister type fluid filled lesions to join the other two types of infections.
Avatar f tn As for the burning and itchy - sounds like another yeast infection, as bacteria and yeast often thrive in a warm moist environment, which is the case with an ongoing low grade discharge. I'd say pop along to your doctor or gynocologist and get it checked out.
Avatar f tn I'll start out by putting a few things in perspective: I took depo provera for 3 years. My last shot was scheduled for January 30 but I skipped it because I wanted to change birth control, so it's been a total of 5 months since my last shot. I've yet to start another birth control, and my boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex for about 2 months. I had a very brief period that started on May 15th and then had a yeast infection, which I treated and stopped showing symptoms for.
Avatar n tn ) Is your new birth control the depo provera shot? That CAUSES irregularity in bleeding. 2.) Even if it's not depo, yes, your body COULD be reacting to the new introduction of hormones. 3.) If you just are recovering from a yeast infection, YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE A TAMPON!!!! YOU CAN CAUSE THE YEAST TO STAY AND MULTIPLY EVEN IF IT'S ALMOST GONE!!!!! 4.
Avatar n tn So what could this mean, and could my fiance be doing this because he's super skinny and I'm a little heavier? I'm also on Depo Provera Injection every 3 months and I do not have periods. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn the'd be the best answer for u i believe?i used to suffer from the Middlechermz years ago but Depo-Provera helped that tremendously!
Avatar n tn Been with the same person for years now. I recently changed from the birth control pill to the depo provera shot. After receiving the shot I became very ill with a steady temperature of 103, body aches and sweats, etc. I felt uncomfortable "down under" feeling small cuts/tears down in that region. I assumed it was from dry sex so I let it slide thinking it would heal itself. Today, it became extremely uncomfortable and itchy so I took a look.
Avatar f tn Something new that I'm not sure is from the fibroid is a problem with some incontinence (some small leakage, when I have to go I can't put it off for any length of time as was normal) and more vaginal discharge than normal. Although I did have a yeast infection following a large dose of antibiotics after an unrelated surgery, the yeast infection has been cleared up. Could the incontinence be related to the fibroid? I have told my Dr.
Avatar f tn I currently have a vaginal yeast infection, but I itch crazily in my vaginal area, more than normal with a yeast infection. I have been tested for STD's and came back negative for every one. Nothing really seems to trigger the itching, but it's been going on for about 2 weeks. The vaginal itching, along with an armpit itching I've been experiencing, could be due to the fact the razor I use for those two areas has no moisturizing strip on it, and I don't use shaving cream.
Avatar n tn If an infection is ruled out, a gynecologist can perform a laparoscopy or alternatively, attempt a trial of medical treatment with birth control pills, injection of Depo-provera or GnRH agonist for endometriosis. If the pain is resolved with medical treatment and infection was ruled out then it is most likely endometriosis and this is now an acceptable approach to treating endometriosis.
Avatar f tn I started to feel better about 2 days later and then got worse again. They then said i had a yeast infection from medication. and put me on Cipro, and still had pain.. so then they put me on for a irriated urtheia (sorry my spelling isn't to great) I was on this for 2x a day for 30 days. Again i started to feel better, then a week later.. I had the burning/soreness back and the urologist put me on Cipro again. This has been going on for 8months and now the dr just throws cipro at me.
Avatar n tn i recently stopped getting injected with the birth control depo provera; i wonder if by me having so much unprotected sex, with so many people that it be causing the oder? also, i usually never used condoms after the second sexual encounter, and never got pregnant. now im worried that i wont be able to get pregnant! please, can you suggest something?
Avatar f tn So ever since I got put on birth control the Depo Provera shot I have been experiencing a whole lot of pain to where I can't even have intercourse. I went to my doctor she said I need to go through therapy because I tense my muscles up when I am having lower abdominal pains, I had the abdominal pains before I got on the shot but they were no where near as bad as they are now. right along with the burning and pain and the itchieness of my vagina. It is so painful.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I have never turned to a forum of any kind for any reason before but I am now because I don't feel like I can really talk to anyone in my personal life about what I'm dealing with every day & have them actually understand. I am 22 years old. I have had 4 laproscopy's in the past 4 years (the last one being a week ago today) & 3 DNC's (along with the past 3 surgeries - not this most recent surgery) to clean out the endometriosis & everything.
Avatar n tn Most of the time it happens when I have my periods and after a week of wearing a pad I get it and I also have a little itching in the vaginal area like a yeast infection type of itch no burning there though. I am very regular with bowel movements so could this be hemroids, a yeast infection or could I possible have an STD and not know it. The nurse in the Dr's office seems to think it is not an STD and I hope it is not and I guess it is possible it could be from about 10 years ago.
Avatar n tn Saw numerous gynos-always tested negative for STDs etc. (saw lots of shoulder shrugging) -have been on depo-provera for aprox 4 years -have reoccuring yeast infections -no bad odour -I don't use soap or other irritants Aprox. 3 mths ago I started to have intense pain of the vulva, saw a gyno, was treated for yeast w/ monistat. BURNING HAS NOT GONE AWAY. +aprox. 2months ago I started getting red bumps that turned into white looking blisters-very painful.
1331397 tn?1294043495 I researched the syptoms but nothing i found matches the infection to be exact. i had a yeast infection before and this does not feel like one. i am scared that this may be STD related beacause of other comlications i'va had in the past few months (see posts). Someone please help me!
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your help! I probably will go to my gynecologist when I get my other depo provera. My mom already knows I have been sexually active. She isn't mad she just wants ne to be careful. And I have been with my boyfriend for 9 months. Our affairs aren't always protected though.

Avatar n tn I don't have any vaginal itching or anal itching, and there appears to be no sign of any type of yeast infection. I have had also in the past year had three bladder infections after not having one for over 20 years with no change in sexual practices. I am partnered with a woman, and we have been together seven years with no other sexual contact. We do have a swimming pool but I have been swimming on weekends in the warm months for two years now.
Avatar f tn than i was having muscle and joint pain for three months plus a steady ongoing yeast infection that would not go away. so if you are on it dont plan to have sex because this drug just kills that. I went off it because of the side effects but because the BCP is not working I had to go back on it for three months. The first shot i felt like **** and the second, well within two days i fell into a depression. This drug is wrong in every way.
Avatar n tn ) I EVENTUALLY took the UTI medicine and a yeast infection pill and all symptoms went away. New Years Eve, I participated in oral sex and felt the cut AGAIN. I had to stop. I was confused and annoyed and went back to my family doctor. She prescribed me vaginosis medicine (without performing ANY tests) and sent me on my way. A few days later two MORE cuts appeared at the top of my vagina, EXTREMELY itchy and inflammed. I decided it was time to go see a gynecologist.
